My weighted GPA is currently a 3.7, unweighted is somewhere between a 3.2-3.4 (4.0 scale). My school calculates this through computer, which quite frankly.. has gotten many students' GPAs wrong. So, I think my weighted and unweighted are slightly higher than I mentioned.
I have taken all honors and AP classes. All A's and B's, with the exception of the occasional C (in science, which I am not majoring in, so doesn't reallyyyy effect me).
I want to be a journalism major (sports journalism). I am the sports editor of the school paper and currently write for the town paper. I've done a lot of extra curriculars (key club, student council, ski club, newspaper, deca, best buddies)
I have 50+ community service hours.
My SAT's scores were not great. (1530 total, ugh) But, I do plan on studying an SAT prep book over the summer. So, I'm hoping to raise my score. ACT, again... not so great-22 composite. (As you can see, I'm not the greatest test taker, haha). Also, I do plan on taking both tests a second time.
I'm told that NU really focuses on characteristics of a student through their essay. I'm pretty sure I can nail a solid essay, because I do consider myself a very well rounded person.
