CGI Star Wars - The Clone Wars

You should - they're fantastic. Especially the way they link II and III - how General Grievous got his wheeze is in there, Anakin's scar and a few other bits and pieces.

I've been watching the trailer for a couple of weeks now and can't wait!

Hope they have a proper premiere for this,i want to dress up like i did for Star Wars Celebration last year(i went to both London & LA)

Just got back from seeing it.

Flawed (but not as flawed as the first two prequels), but still really rather good. The tonal incongruity between some obvious kiddiness (comedy slapstick droiRAB, smart talking 14 year old sidekick) and some of the most brutal war scenes we've ever seen in a Star Wars film was odd, but I had a great time... and despite being kinda light on plot, it sure was extremely pretty to look at.

Based on this, I'll definitely watch the TV series of it.

I found that strange too - very Saving Private Ryan in parts, yet very kidified in others. The TV series ought to be amazing based on this (which is obviously a couple of episodes sewn together).

Went to see it tonight with a couple of frienRAB, and we all enjoyed it. Nothing spectacular I don't think but the action scenes were spot on.

Went in not really expecting much, but was pleasently surprised, though the beginning after the credits did remind me so much of Starship Troopers with the voiceover :)

So yeah was a great way to spend the night, but more comical than I was expecting but yeah I don't really think that was an overly bad thing.

I'm more interested in the live action series that's coming in 2009/2010...which covers a period of Star Wars history we know nothing about, set between Episode III and Episode IV. :)

I'm sure The Clone Wars will be interesting and fun but it's just been done to death a bit now, and the suspence taken out of it since we know what happens now with the release of 'Sith.

Looking at the slippage on that show, it's gone from "2009" to "late 2010" to "maybe 2010". I wouldn't expect to see anything of the live action show until at least 2011.

Does sound good in principle, mind - splitting the franchise in half - Clone Wars for children (and it seems, some of the rest of us), Live Action of adults. Wonder if they'll cameo Sam Witwer as the Secret Apprentice (as he is a well respected TV actor - Crashdown in BSG) in it? Hmmm....

I'm hoping for the rumours to be true about major cast appearing in cameos during the series run, apparently/allegedly they have shown an interest in appearing;

Frank Oz (Yoda), Ian McDiarmid (Palpatine), Jimmy Smits (Bail Organa), Wayne Pygram (Grand Moff Tarkin), Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi), Temuera Morrison (Jango Fett/Clone Troopers/Imperial Stormtroopers/Voice of adult Boba Fett) and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) have expressed their interest in occasional appearances.

:D:D:D

I can see them doing maybe an episode every 4 or 5 episodes and feature a main character.

Ewan McGregor!? Not a chance, he's disowned the films as it is! The rest I can see appearing though. Maybe even Sam Jackson who seems short of a buck judging by all the crap he's making at the moment.

We're getting a day ahead of the US aren't we? Same as Sith if memory serves.

I just hope that Cartoon Network get their timings and series link sorted out properly, the Original Series was a nightmare to record.
