CGI Star Wars - The Clone Wars

Actually, it's dead good. It's made by the guy who made Samurai Jack. Very stylised and rather artistic. Some might say there is more artistic integrity in 10 minutes of Clone Wars than there is in the entire of Attack of the Clones. I wouldn't be so mean.

..

But there is.

;)

Not sure if people had spotted this, but the forthcoming Star Wars CGI TV show will be getting it's debut in CINEMAS (bet you thought I'd put this in the wrong forum ;)) in the Autumn. This will be the first three TV episodes edited together to make a feature-length story.

According to reports from the Hasbro Toyfair the US release will be August:

During the Hasbro Fall 2007 Analyst Event this morning, they announced the much-anticipated "Star Wars" Clone Wars animated TV series would have a theatrical launch next year on August 8 and then on TV throughout the fall.

And in the UK (and the rest of Europe) according to a report from the UK Toy Fair in September:

You all know about the Clone Wars animated Series coming out, right? Well it's hitting this September, and will kick off (in the UK at least) with a cinematic release of the first 3 episodes (note this was confirmed by a couple of Star Wars licensees other than Hasbro). The rest of the episodes will then come out on a yet undecided TV channel."

A Star Wars thread that's not a duplicate. Go figure.

I'm not doubting how good it is...I'm just not particuly interested now I know how the clone wars start and how they end from the films....Especially concerning General Grevious which was just a blatent toy seller with no real point in Episode III....

For me it's just not moving the story on, but just filling in the bits....Now if they did a KOTOR (Knights of the old Republic) CGI or movie, i'd be there like a shot.....

Did you know that EA dropped info yesterday that KOTOR3 is in deveopment by Bioware? Good as the comics are, the game (the Revan plot-twist especially) are leagues ahead.

Ol' George must be in need of some money, he's rolling out his Star Warts franchise again. What next, the animated Adventures of Jar Jar Binks; or maybe he will think of something new to create seeing as he is living off the hand outs of the desperately needy.....or should that be nerdy?

Decent length trailer doing the rounRAB on TV now! Just saw one on the CITV channel there. I'm looking forward to a bit more lightsabery stuff :D August 15th release date, not long to go!

I take it you're not a fan, then? ;)

I'm not looking forward to the animated series to be honest. I've not seen the original Clone Wars shorts, either. However, I am looking forward to the live action TV series. Done well, it should be very good.

The new range of Clone Wars toys are released tomorrow - Toy 'R' Us are doing midnight openings! Is Star Wars popular enough for midnight openings!!?

I'd actually equate it more to JK Rowling writing something other than Harry Potter. The risk is that we might all realise what a bad writer she is!

I beleive Lucas has actually talked about his future plans away from the SW universe. Don't forget his background before SW (or AG) was high concept arty type films and he has a hankering to return to that. However, there's a whole industry out there semi-dependant on SW and there must be a lot of pressure to keep things going while the demand is still there.

Actually, this fills in an interesting chapter of the whole star wars saga. Shame he didn't film this as part of the Prequels, rather than the 2hrs of crap that was Ep1!

Still, as it is animated, it should be a whole lot better than the films...

20mins of Ep1 + Ep2 + clone wars + a slower paced Ep3 would have made a much better plot for the prequels...George, why oh why did you destroy it all?
