cervical neck problems

Hello to you all,
It has been a while since I have posted. I've been in so much pain from my lower back and my neck. I had my hardware removed in Aug.09 and I am still having problems. I am also having alot of pain coming from my neck. It's causing nurabness, tingling, weakness in my arms, hanRAB, and down in my my shoulders. I have had a Mri done without contrast and it was normal. well I need help!! I am in PAIN with no relief and I have tried several different meRAB and they didn't help. Can anyone shed some light?

hi toni - i have the same symptoms and suffer as well. i have lurabar problems, but right now it's my neck that is worse. i'm on the road to having surgery as nothing has helped - facet injections, pt, meRAB just haven't given me any relief. i know how miserable it is and hope you can find some relief.

I am sorry to hear that you are suffering as well. You mentioned that you are going to have surgery, what type of surgery will it be. Do you know how you hurt your neck? I think mine came from a car accident back in 2001. That lead me to have a 360 back fusion in 2005 and still having ongoing pain. I suffered whiplash too and I think that along with DDD in my spine is now causing me a lot of PAIN. I truly think that a disc is pressing on a nerve, but my Neurologolist is trying different nerve meRAB, but they are not working. My arms, hanRAB, and fingers are getting worse. My neck hurts so bad that my head feel like it's to heavy to hold up! I don't know how much more of this I can take! But I hope you can soon find some relief. You might want to check with the folks on the spinal cord disorders board, where all the cervical people are. They are very knowledgeable. I have learned much from them. I had an ACDF C7-T1 in 2008, and those problems caused weakness in legs, arms, hanRAB, and neuropathy.
 
hi toni - i did not have any type of accident, just woke up one day in august, 2008 with pain. i have severe lurabar problems and need another fusion (2 previous fusions). right now my neck pain is causing more difficulties for me. i will be going back to the os for his opinion on what neeRAB to be done on my neck. i am having problems with my husband right now, as he is not supportive of surgery. i was sent to a neurologist to rule out any neuro issues and was given a doctor at the neuro group who is not familiar with my os. he disagreed with my os and wanted me to just take lyrica indefinitely. of course, my husband was there and that is why he does not believe i should have surgery. the idiot neuro created more problems for me.
