Ceramic Heaters - Do they let out a little smoke when started? HELP!?!??!!?

Hi guys, I just bought an 'EXO-TERRA 150w Ceramic Heat Emitter Professional Series'. I installed a 'Komodo ceramic lamp fixture' to my vivarium and screwed the 'heat mitter' into it. When I turned it on it let out a little smoke for barely 1 second.

Is that normal? I have never used a ceramic heater before and am a bit confused.
 
Yah it's normal since it's brand new .. Also when you don't use your ceramic heater for a while they give out this heat smell...
