Cellphone wireless service question. Why . . .?

Why does my wireless phone service seem to worse with AT&T than with it was with Cingular?

I'm really baffled by this and so is one of my friends who reports the same situation. When I had Cingular my cell phone reception was great -- hardly any drop off calls and clear reception.

I didn't change phones so I know this isn't the problem, but now that I have AT&T I get dropped phone calls daily and the reception isn't very good sometimes. I would think that when AT&T bought out Cingular that the reception and lack of drop off calls would be practically non-existent.

Can anyone explain this conundrum?
 
Just because they buy the business doesn't mean they take the towers my best guess would be cingulars towers were not up to date enough for at&t so they just took them out of service. This is why you go to verizon Americas most reliable wireless network.
