Cellphone slow down and text message problems!?

My cell phone has recently began to slow down. The phone had been working perfectly for the last couple months and for some reason it immediately began to slow down. It slows down when i press a button to open up the menu and takes a few seconds for it to do anything where it used to react instantly. Also my biggest concern is the fact that I am recieving text massages a long time after they had been sent. For example: I had just recieved a text message today at around 7:00 PM June 14 that said it was sent at 3:42 PM June 11. I would really like to know if this problem can be solved by myself or if it needs to be sent in as soon as possible.
My phone is a Motorola K1 Krazr and I'm on a rogers plan
After deleting some stuff off my memory(both phone and memory card) it doesnt slow down as bad but isnt perfect but my text messaging problem still hasnt changed so im still waiting for an answer on that
 
What kind of phone is it? what comp. do you have? but anyways call the comap. and ask them to do an update for your phone because old modles phone need updates to keep up with others.
