Cellphone Scratch ?????

Okay so i recently got a blackberry storm and well today i saw that it had like this huge smudge on the screen that would not come off!!! It looks like a thumbprint just permanent.. Anyone else have this problem? Do you know what might have caused it?

I have the lg dare and same exact problem It worried me so I took it back and the guy are verizon said it was A. from sleeping on it or B. Over working the touch screen but he did give me a brand new phone free (same lg dare)
