Cell Phone Help-Upgrade

Alright so I want to upgrade to a smartphone, I have just a talk and text only phone (Intensity). I am looking at the Droid X, or the T-Bolt....HOWEVER the thing is I can't upgrade until November of this year!!!!

I called customer service and they told me to buzz off 2 times so far....How do I get them to hook me up without being a jerk, threatening to leave, and screaming at managers? I will be spending more money obviously, getting the phone, and adding a dataplan...

Any thoughts?? Has anybody been through this??

When I got my first G1 I was 5 months from being eligible for an upgrade. I asked to talk to customer retention and told them I was thinking of getting an Iphone and leaving, I was allowed the early upgrade. The only problem I see is how long have you been with your carrier, I had been with T-mobile over 5 years and they wanted to keep me.
