a plant with pollen (male germ cells) has been treated with DNA damaging agents. the egg cells are fertilized and some of the offspring have defective chloroplasts..it can be passed on to future generations.
the male germ cell does not contribute chloroplasts to the fertilized egg so how did these defective chloroplasts come about?
