So I started on celexa a few days ago straight from lexapro. My doctor did not taper me down or anything, I just switched. The first day or two on celexa I felt ok, but now I am starting to feel weird. I am only on 10 mg. I do not want to go higher because I was extrememly fatigued on 20 mg. Now I feel like I cant focus, my eyes feel strained and I feel sort of in a daze. I usually used to think about my heart rate and feel my heart racing but now it occurs but I pay no attention to it which I think is just weird. I dont know anyone have any suggestions or comments?
 
i no longer have health insurance and it costs way too much to stay on the lexapro.
 
I was recently switched from 40 mg of Prozac by my doctor straight away to 40 mg of Celexa. I was scared to death of taking it, initially, so I took half a pill the first few days. I was convinced it would be terrible, and I'm sorry you're having strange things happen, but I've been on it a week, and it's really helped me. I don't know if you should stick with it a bit longer or ask your doctor, it hasn't had any side effects for me, except making me stop worry less and feel less depressed.

How are you feeling anxiety-wise, Idreamofsilence? Because it sounRAB like what I went through when I was off medication all together. My doctor suggested that the anxiety was causing me to feel exactly like you are, so I'm thinking that maybe the dosage isn't enough and it's not being effective? While my current medication isn't working wonders I am feeling better (i.e. all of my symptoms similar to yours went away). In other worRAB, my symptoms were caused by my anxiety being uncontrolled.

Or you could be going through withdrawal from the lexapro. My advice is to stick with it for a little while longer and if it doesn't go away it probably isn't withdrawal.
 
Thanks. I realized that I needed to just stick with it. They are side effects. Today I felt somewhat normal. I didnt really have any major issues. I think my body just has to get adjusted to the 20 mg dosage because I had myself on 10 mg for a while then felt like sickly again after the lexapro (probably because of the drop in dose). I just feel extremely exhausted and drugged up on it during the day, but today it felt not as bad as the days before. Hopefully tomorrow will be even better. well see! Thanks for the advice. Im going to stick with it for a while and see how it goes.
