Celebs that you thought were dead but still alive & vice versa

Just last night a few mates & i were talking about movies,& i had to break the news to 1 of my mates that John Candy was actually dead.I think he has been dead now for 9 or 10 years.My mate had no clue & was gutted by the news.

Which got me wondering is there any celebs that you thought were still alive but were actually dead or was there a celeb that you thought that was dead but they are still alive?.
 
The Old Man from RoboCop and RoboCop 2. Thought he died in the early 90's but turns out he didn't die until 18th February this year.

Also, Tackleberry from Police Academy died in 2001 and the guy who played Wilson in Home Improvement also died in 2001.

Tackleberry was he the Psycho one that loved big guns?.Sorry for sounding abit blunt but i have only seen 1 Police Academy movie.
 
Wilson was the man over the fence in HI? Was he not also in Boy Meets World andthe voice of KITT??

EDIT - Got it now. Wilson was played by Earl Hindman who died 29 December 2003 of lung cancer. William Daniels is very much alive. Why did I always get those two mixed up?? :confused:
 
David Graf played Eugene Tackleberry in Police Academy.

William Daniels played George Feeny in Boy Meets World and KITT in Knight Rider.

Earl Hindman played Wilson in Home Improvement.
 
Someone told me jennifer Grey, as in the woman from Dirty Dancing, was dead. I never thought anything of it....thought okies fairysnuff. Then I was watching a film she was in called 'lover's Knot' and looked it up on imdb...and she's like totally not dead lmao. So there we go!
 
My Sister somehow was convinced that Dick Van Dyke was dead she only found out that this wasn't true when they brought out the Mary Poppins 40th Anniversary dvd this year & he featured on the Audio Commenatry track made for the dvd.

I myself only found out last month that American Comedian/Actor Rodney Dangerfield had died.
 
OMG, Rodney Dangerfield is Dead!, i didnt know that.
Anyway, another actor i didnt know was dead is Jim Varney (slinky Dog in Toy Sory, and Ernest in all the Ernest Films)
 
I thought Jeremy Thrope ex leader of the Liberal Party was dead. Thought he had commited suicide shortly after 1979 general election because he lost his seat.

So it was a huge shock when I saw a news story on the BBC Vote 2005 website.

I must have confused him with someone else.
 
Yeah Jonathan Brandis, I read about that at the time, it's still a shocker as he still doesn't seem like someone who would be dead - if you get what I mean!!

My sister had a very vivid dream once that Sophie Aldred, "Ace" in Doctor Who and "star" of Melvin and Maureen's Music-o-grams, had died. The following Saturday she was on some kid's TV show, live, and my sister went very pale and started shaking and saying: "she's dead! She's dead!!"

It took her some time to realise that Ms Aldred's demise had all been in her subconscious :rolleyes: :D
 
I didn't realise Jane Russell (Co-Starred with Marilyn Monroe in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes) was still about until I saw it on IMDB.

I also didn't realise Audrey Hepburn had died so long ago. But I am a young one and only liked her work recently, so that's why I didn't realise that.
 
I didnt realise Brion James was dead till I saw it on IMDB ,interestingly (shows what a busy actor he was) although he died in 1999 he's actually credited against 4 films post 1999 -

Was that the guy that was in the pop charts round about 1995/1996?

I myself only found out last year that the actor Jon Pertwee (He played Dr Who) had died sometime in the early 90's.

For some reason i thought George Cole(Arthur Daily from Minder) was dead until i saw him in a 1 off drama programme recently.
