My contracts with Telus expired Oct 30th, so I am now on a month-month. I am looking for new phones and possibly a new provider, as Telus doesn't offer us long time customers any incentive to renew. I am just outside Calgary, Alberta
I am considering a Family/Share plan as my wife uses approx 100 minutes/mn and I average 300-350. The phones need to have Bluetooth and maybe voice dialing, other then that not looking for anything special. I realy need early evenings and weekends, and voicemail. Also, almost all her calls are to my cell or son's who is on Telus.
I have been checking out the Nokia 6265, Palm Treo 650, and Samsungs. I find it very confusing shopping around, so I have a few questions:
Which provider should I go with and what contract length? There seems to be only a $50.00 difference in phone cost between 2 year and 3 year plans.
Am I better off to buy a phone outright, a slightly used one? Is the only advantage to this if I wanted to cancel contracts I wouldn't get screwed with huge charges?
Do I require a data plan if I choose a Treo?
I had more questions but having a brain fart now. I am just looking for some experienced guidance.
