CDM8900 will not get WAP!!! anyone know why?

Hello again all,

This is for a CDM8900 Verizon phone.

I have been trying for weeks to connect to any kind of Wap, I went to free WAP server etc, I know my phone is set up according to dozens of post (ie. ip and port changed my phone homepage to http://www.wap.google.com each time etc...). No matter what I do it just says Sending )))))))) and then says no respnse after about a minute.

I even downloaded Now.wap, set it all up as instructed and I do not even see it attempting to connect to that through the interface....(all the settings are set on there too, read dozens of posts and changed many variables.. opened the ports on my router and made that computer the DMZ host...).

Anyone who thinks they know why I cannot connect please respond, it will be greatly appreciated!!!!
 
Well that stinks!!!!
Wonder if there is a workaround.... My first major dissapointment when I bought the phone was they wanted you to "pay" to get the pictures off the phone.. but thanks to the boards like this I am able to get them :))))....

I also wondered if there was a way to dial the number they use for internet acces (I use the phone via USP to go online and browse on my laptop) and get to the internet that way and use the browser????
I hope somebody comes up woth a fix... we bought the phones, they are ours so I wonder why they block us from using the capabilities of the phone that are there to begin with LOL (I am sure its all money driven)
 
Alltel has it's own version of a web browser for which you must pay a monthly fee for access.

I have no earthly idea how it will be "reverse engineered" but I'm sure someone is working on it right now. :D
