CDM8600 and Text Messages

I got this phone a couple of months back, and I only text message with one person. Every so often, I receive a text message from him that says "Duplicated Message" at the top in bold letters, followed by his message.
Other times, at the end of the message, it has the words "Msg stored at:" followed by a date and time, which are different from the current date and time (right now I have two messages with stored dates that are about a month ago: today is March 21 but it says Msg stored at: 02/24 04:17 am)
Does anyone know what these duplicated/stored messages mean?
 
Thanks for your response. If I understand you correctly, let me clarify my problem even further with an example.
I received a text message on 3/18 at 4:55am that said at the end "Msg stored at: 02/23 10:51pm"
The person I received this message from did, indeed, write AND send the message on 3/18 - not on 2/23. So it is not a message that was delayed in being sent. It was received on time. So, can you tell me what it means now? or is SMS just really messed up?
