CD player in Toyota Camry isn't working... why?

Bought the car today... It worked for about 15 minutes - - then stopped mid-song. Spat the CD out and turned off. I put the CD back in, it turned back on, said "disc in", five seconds later, ejected the disc out. Repeated the same thing about 26 times. What gives?! It's not recognizing the CDs and I'm irritated beyond Hell!

Tape + Radio work fine.
