Doesn't a polyp and a gallstone appear differently on an ultrasound? If a polyp is causing the obstruction of the CBD why would it be necessary to remove the gallbladder? Polyps and gallstones are two different things. I know they remove the gallbladder due to stones, but why would they remove due to a polyp?
