CBC-HD Missing on Bev

I don't understand how the channel could be available to the pirates when it wasn't even showing up in the guide for legitimate bell subscribers. I thought that someone on this thread mentioned that Bell had a problem with the transponder carrying CBCHD, so how could anyone receive it?

From your reply dosborne I would KNOW you are not a Bell employee, your opening statement of "I stand corrected" would just NEVER come from an employee as it would be an admission that they were wrong, which we all know never happens.......

What this all comes down to is the definition of the words, "Down at the source." To Bell it means Bell themselves; to everyone else it means a problem with CBC itself. All Bell had to tell their employees to tell us is, "We are having technical problems and technicians are working on it as we speak." Simple. Case closed.

Prehaps CBC Marketplace will do a story about it. Remember the story about the billing issues and The Fifth Estate's story about the illegal porn?

That's exactly what we were supposed to say...channel is down at the at the source, our technicians are working on it, the issue will be resolved anytime soon, in the meantime I could suggest that you go to channel ??? where you woulsd get the SD feed for that. We appologise for all the inconvenience...

i was at the flea market today, and there was a "free to air" stand there
it was a busy store, thats for sure
they had a number of different boxes for sale, some HD, some standard, some PVR's, a little bit for everyone
i asked one of the customers who was buying a Captain 8000HD box, if it was capable of getting HD, as it was advertising
he said yes, but only bell, because it was MPEG 2 only, but for the price (the same as a 6100) he didnt care, he would buy a new one when the MPEG 4 boxes come down in price
i asked if he had caught the soccer game (canada vs austria) seeing as he had a brazil shirt on, and i assumed he was a soccer fan
he told me he had, and i started to piss and moan that i had to watch it at a neighbors house
he laughed, and told me to come to a website called DHC, and read the article on the loss of paying subscribers CBCHE (small world!)
turns out this site is more popular than i thought
he told me that he, and friends, all watched the game, in HD, on their "FTA" boxes
how is this possible if it is down at the source/provider/wherever?
so, its not that it was down for an hour or so, because it wasnt down at all for the pirates (this is the second person to tell me he watched the game)
i cant see why he would lie (maybe he was planted there by the FTA store owner to beef up business, who knows)
AEV, its NOT your fault, or any of the other CSR's who told complaining customers the "down at source" line
i would have believed what my superiors were telling me too!
heck, i believed when i was told it was down at the source, for a few minutes, till i went to the neighbors, and watched it on rogers
i dont know how people can agree with a company when it lies?
is it cause its a little white lie? been alot of little lies lately...where is that credibility going?
i guess to appease those that dont like this thread, it should be closed, and continued in a more appropriately named thread like "Bell, lies, and conspiracy theories"

The source of CBC-HD is the CBC. How can you argue with that?

Whoever it was at Bell that wrote that CBC-HD was "down at the source" wrote it that way to mislead customers. These things ruin any trust that we have in Bell.

Go back and read my post # 64.

I don't expect everyone to get it, but the possible answer is there.

More likely an ECM attempt that would have been successful on authentic hacked Bev boxes if anybody still does that.
They are so far behind the times and out of touch with reality, it's quite sad really.
ECM's to boxes that nobody uses, sheesh!

This type of action would be primarily to satisfy pressure to do something, but in reality had little to no desired effect.

Analogous to checking all the boxes on the EI cards and calling places to ask if they need any workers, even when you know they don't just so you can keep getting a pogey cheque.
It's all just a show to appease the new buyers, or the feds to delay revocation of their BDU operating license.
