Hi everyone,

I have two cats myself, theyre house cats though but do go out to play sometimes but never kill anything. My neighbour has five cats and everyday i either find a dead bird in my garden or stop them from killing one and release the poor thing somewhere else. I love birds and used to feed them but cant do this anymore because her cats keep killing them! Am i right to be annoyed about this? I know its a cats instinct but that's in the wild when they are hungry and need to kill, the cats next door are anything but hungry, how can i keep them away? is it even possible?

well cats can wear a bell and that sometimes lets the bird hear them and gives them a chance to escape but since they are not your cats, you couldnt really do this, try speaking to the owners and suggest bells, thats all you can do really

yes ur right to be annoyed i would be to! those poor helpless little birds=(
i would say try going to ur neighbor's house and tell her about it maybe she could try to keep them inside more
or
u can go to a petstore and ask the people like if the cat smell a certain sence(example=pee from a wolf) that would keep them away from ur house
good luck on ur choice=)
RIP ALL POOR BIRDS=(

Maybe you could create a cat habitat, by putting cat netting all around your garden ? This is often done to keep cats in your own yard. You could use it to keep the neighbors cats out, and your own cats in ?

You can call your local animal control about the problem, especially if you see no tags or anything on them.
The owner can get in trouble if they have not had all the cats get their shots, especially if they are letting them run wild.
And if that be the case they will make the owner get their shots up to date.

In most states a cats owner cannot let them outside unless all shots/vaccines are up to date.

So call animal control and explain the case to them, they should be able to help you.

You can't stop them from killing birds/mice etc, it's just what they do - it's natural.

Plenty more birds in the sky.

Set a trap for them, humane if possible, then parcel them up and send them to Africa and let them hunt with the big guys.
