Catholic weddings outdoors (beach) in the Philippines -- Is it Possible?

Cheers

New member
My fiancee and I, both Catholics, have out hearts set on a small and intimate beach wedding. We're hoping to hold it in a beach house that his family owns, but we recently discovered from friends that this is usually not accepted by the Catholic church.
Has anyone succeeded with this? If so, what were the requirements for this?
Answer guideline:
- who to ask
- time line
- possible costs
- things to consider
- any other "valuable information"

And if this is entirely out of the questions, we would absolutely appreciate any alternative suggestions --- if we simply must settle for less than our dream wedding celebration.

Thank you!

Your "dream" wedding can take place, but it will not be officiated by a Catholic priest.....sorry. If you are both Catholic, then you should know this.

Why can't you? Because in the Catholic Church, marriage is a sacrament....just like Baptism, First Communion, etc. You would not have your baby baptized outside by a stream....same with a wedding. The sacrament must take place INSIDE the church.

So....alternative? Get married in your chosen location, but seek the "officiant" of another faith (Lutheran, Methodist, etc.) or have a judge or other "officiant" come to your site.
