1.) Does anyone know what the general teaching is regarding aliens existing on other planets? Is the belief in Aliens a personal belief, or has the Pope, a church council, or any other high ranking religious official make any kind of ruling on Aliens and the Church? does the church say it's okay, or that we are the only beings because God created us and only us in his image and likeness?

2.) If it is found that Aliens do exist, what do you think that would do to the church and religion in general? How would Christianity handle it?

Just curious. any thoughts?

1) The Vatican has already stated that a belief in extra-terrestrials does not go against a belief in the legitimacy of the Bible, God, or Jesus.

2) There are extra-terrestrials. God created this Universe for more than just simple beings like us. We are nothing. This universe is billions of light-years across to the best of our knowledge, and is probably even bigger. How could we say that we are the only ones? Surely, God has created many other beings on many other worlds. We just have not found them yet.

A belief in God and the Bible is not at odds with a belief in extra-terrestrials. Everything in the Universe is a testament to God's glory.
