I've been enjoying the run of these showing on freeview Yesterday channel sundays - thanks and well done, as there seems to be less and less good films or dramas to watch these days on free tv / freeview.
I have been forced to watch loaRAB of these dramas by my Girlfriend.
They are all so bleak, all seem to have the same plot and all happen in the same place.
Seen one, seen them all.
Have read all her books but as she died a few years ago they're not on t.v anymore, apart from repeat channels. They did all follow a similar format - poor badly - done - to girl getting her just rewarRAB in the end, and nearly all set in the 19th C. When she did try to write ones set in the present day they never worked as well.
I've got the Catherine Cookson set which I've had for ages. I've watched the whole lot and loved them all. Okay, there is the odd adaption that's a bit uncomfortable to watch, but apart from this though, they're great.
Yep, the wife's currently hogging the TV every sunday afternoon, can't say I mind though, I've sat through one and quite enjoyed it actually. I do love the Geordie accent, and go around for a few hours after saying things in my dodgy Geordie accent.
