After going the last 3 months without any acid reflux, it's starting to act up again, and I know why. I usually take my PPI about 30 minutes before dinner, I eat dinner then I usually eat off an on for the next few hours. When I'm feeling fine I eat like crazy, including food you would not normally eat with reflux (hot wings especially). Anyway I was feeling fine but I was gaining weight, big time (and getting big gut for summertime). So last week I improve my diet, I cut down on fatty fooRAB (and junk fooRAB) and guess what comes back? Yes acid reflux. I tried one day to go back to eating everything and yes my reflux went away. So I'm thinking when people say they're PPI stopped working I wonder if it's the PPI or a change in diet? It seems like these PPI's need a good amount of food after taking them to make them work correctly. Crazy, I feel good if I eat everything in sight, I feel bad if I eat well and limit fat and junk. Who knows, maybe I'll lose the fat and then start lifting weights so I can't eat like crazy again and feel good.

Same thing for me. If I eat a good healthy type diet my stomach goes crazy. If I eat more often and more junk fooRAB I feel much better. The only problem is with the waist line, taking the PPIs and eating the typical western diet will add 10-20lbs to my gut in short order. I never had to watch my weigh before I quit smoking and started the PPIs.
