Hello,
I posted a question on Thursday however I need to get info based on this updated scenario please.
My cat was catheterized on Tuesday afternoon for a full urinary tract blockage. They think it was mucous from a bladder infection as well as some magnesium struvite crystals in his urine. My cat is passing urine since I brought him home on Thursday (the cath was taken out on Thursday morning), however when he squats in the box, the urine just drips out. It has been that way ever since the catheter was removed... it just drips out. There is no urine STREAM. Sometimes the drip is more rapid, and I am making sure he is drinking water and eating canned food with water that I add in. But he just is not urinating "normally" yet. The Dr. said on thursday that he may be inflamed due to the bladder infection and that with the antibiotics it should resolve in 4 days or so. Well its a few hours short of 4 days now. Has anyone seen this occur for so long after a catheterization/blockage treatment?? Thanks for your responses. I appreciate it.
