Castrol Edge vs Mobile 1?

im sure there are tests done but most people wil never see the inside of their motors to tell most cars if taking care of right wil be able to drive into the 400,000 range and it doesnt matter which oil one uses been driving and working on cars 40 yrs
 
The commercials I see on TV for Castrol Edge claim it has 8x the wear protection than Mobile 1 (5W-20). I am skeptical on that claim since Mobile 1 has been in the game as long as it has. My wife and I bought a new Focus and I'm taking the very best care of the engine I can. I brought it home with 38 miles on the odometer and put Mobile 1 in it. Anyhoo, is Castrol Edge really any better than Mobile 1 or is that "8x the wear protection" claim just smoke and mirrors? Any engine oil experts please advise. Thanx!
 
I'm not an oil expert but claims that mention competitors name are usually true for the most part due to libel suit (being sued) They could lose tens or hundreds of millions of dollars for false advertising.
