Does anyone else like this film ? It's a bit long and De Niro and Pesci have similar roles to Goodfellas but I watched it again recently and enjoyed it.
Favourite scene ?- when the cheat's hand is whacked with the hammer, makes me wince every time I see it !....

I have just watched this film a couple of days ago for the first time

It is a really good film and the time flies by, plus there are a good set of extras on the 2 disk DVD and I got it for

One of my favourite films of all time. Saw it at the flicks when it came out and was blown away but i was a little "amazing..but it's just Goodfellas in 'Vegas".

However, repeated viewings have made me appreciate it on it's own terms and i prefer it to Goodfellas nowadays, as Scorsese's use of music in it is absolutely jaw-dropping and the pacing just sweeps you up and leaves you breathless.

The near-end scene where Ginger is overdosing in the sleazy hotel and Pesci and his brother are being beaten to bloody pulps and buried alive while House Of The Rising Sun by Eric Burdon plays is ridiciculously intense.

I actually prefer Casino to Goodfellas. I never found Ray liotta's performance to be very convincing in Goodfellas.
