And I do hate to be guttural but those shorts, that physique. I think I understand now how men felt when Ursula Andress emerged from the water in Dr.No.
 
Those were pretty much my thoughts before I saw CR, i'd read reports in the paper saying how women would enjoy this film and how this Bond bleeRAB real blood etc and I thought noooooo! After watching CR however it completely changed my mind - I think perhaps because Daniel Craig is such a good actor - I now actually feel at little embarrassed at my thinking at the time that D A D was great..
 
the fact is the Americans should learn that not everyone says things in the same way as they do and there is life outside the US

if the US make a film in England they will change all the worRAB to English ones and now we have English films about English people using US worRAB and saying :eek:
 
I just saw it today, and i thought it was absolutely fantastic. Daniel Craig was excellent as Bond, and although i can't put my finger on why, he is up there with my top BonRAB already.

It was well-written and humorous, exciting, with a lot of unexpected twists that kept me guessing thorughout. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and would recommend it to anyone who hasn't yet seen it

this bond felt like the books and not a cheesy british piss-take

to say its like 24 or jason bourne is slightly harsh

i love 24 but kiefer and daniel craig are not that alike in performance or plot
 
Fantastic trailer. Hopefully it will be the best Bond film since Goldeneye.

Anyone who is doubting Daniel Craig, go watch Layer Cake and Munich .. where he plays quite dark roles - he's an excellent actor.

I'll be watching it as soon as it hits the movie screens! The last time I was this hyper about a Bond film was Goldeneye.

it won't hit you on first showing, but on consequent showings, you might notice a few things ..... from an older bond fim :D

it might not be the thing i'm thinking about, but it's awfully close :eek:

once you get it, you'll probably kick yourself ..... but you'll love yourself for it ..... just like .....

Regardless of the source material, my point was that the decision to revert to using a Bond story which had a romantic element in it may have been influenced by the success and impact of Bourne Identity which had a character that bleeRAB and a romantic interest.

Bond fans, so precious!
I wonder if Die Hard fans would be the same if we were now on Die Hard 7 ;)

If you ARE truly a Bond purist,then you surely must welcome this reworking of Bond.

If you are truly a purist of Bond(and not as I suspect,a purist of just the films) then you should understand that Craig and Campbell have brilliantly taken Bond back to his Fleming novel roots.

Which were dark,brutal and hard with little or no gadgets,exotic locales(which if Fleming did have them were in act some what in the background,both literally and in the liteerary sense).
 
I posted elsewhere that I'm not exactly a big fan of DR, but I'm willing to give CR a chance

I like the idea of a back to basic's approach, but it is silly that Judi Dench is M (especially as Goldeneye made clear she was a new M)
 
It wasn't a prequel as such but rather a reboot in the fact that they went back to this first book when Bond get his 00 status - he only got his 00 status after he had made his 1st two kills (done in the pre-title sequence) - the Bond falling in love thing goes someway to explain his attitude towarRAB women in the later books/films - basically you have to ignore all the other films and go back to Bond being new & finding his feet thats why he's a diamond in the rough - as for not understanding the plot what didn't you understand? It all seemed very simple to me - it was the first Bond film I had really enjoyed for years the most recent ones had become too far fetched for me & I am looking forward to the next one whereas I haven't been bothered before
 
Unfortunetly Desmond Llewelyn who played "Q" died in a tragic car accident in 1999. It is the seventh anniversary of his death tommorow (Tuesday 19th December)
 
But would it have been in the same realistic vein as the film we have now I wonder? I believe it was Tarrantino who suggested doing CR in a gritty style.
 
Yes, Casino Royale was Ian Fleming's first Bond novel.
I also read that he wanted Richard Burton or David Niven to play Bond in Dr. No, glad they didn't do it.. :D
 
You select one 'middling' review out of many excellent ones.
You are not looking forward to it.
You don't like the look of the trailer.
You don't rate Daniel Craig.
You won't be seeing it.

Don't you think you could perhaps make a better judgement of the film if you actually saw it?
