I am going with my friend tomorrow to St Louis, so he can see his doctor, however I only have $10 on me.. I live in Louisville, KY and have a few unemployment checks that have not been cashed, I was wondering if I would be able to cash a KY unemployment check in Illinois, and if so where anyone might recommend (usually just cash them at Wal-Mart, since I do not have a bank).. We are leaving in about 4 hours, so I won't be able to swing by a Wal-Mart to cash it in Louisville, since they dont start cashing checks until 8 or 9 am, and we'll be gone by 7:30 am
I've read some that stated you could cash them out of state, but some people were not sure if there would be a hold.. Since I need to cash it at a check cashing place, I can't risk going with no money then get to Wal-Mart and they won't cash it
And, unfortunately, I can not wait in Louisville to cash it and then leave because his appointment is at a certain time
