Cash in hand - Same or Bigger?

Go and give the dealer a big down on a 1098 and pay it off within the year. Keep enough cash to get you an Akrapovic full system and race ecu from dan kyle racing and away you go!

can i ask what dealer?

i would LIKE to keep my business with Moto Forza but i need to get into a new bike "comfortably" money wise.

thanks

The .99% financing that they are offering now, requires that you already have a high credit score. If you do qualify for this rate, why would you pay it off early? They are almost loaning you money for three years "free". I would get the loan and invest your insurance dollars in something that will pay you greater than .99%. Even in these economic times, it is possible.

Oh, and get the 1098

Well like you said; not sure i could even qualify for the .99% anyways. I would still do the deal even if i was paying like 5.9-6.9%.

Id be interested in how Ducati Credit does its reporting to the 3. Ive heard some report monthy, or only if your balance changes significantly. If Ducati Credit reports often then i guess it would pay off for me in the end to have that repetitive credit reporting.

And yes; i could invest in something else.

+1 on the big down payment and financing it. Just be sure not to pay it off to quickly as that can actually hurt your credit. They usually have a time period that you can do the complete pay off after a certain point and it won't count against you. I know it sounds counter intuative, but they want you to pay them some intrest for a while, even if it is only .99%, so it makes it worth their while to loan you the money. Just be sure and ask your dealer about early pay off penalties, and how long you should wait before you should pay it off completely if that is your plan.

But yes, get the 1098, and don't wait till '09. "IF" the 1198 does come out it will cost a lot more, and the 1098 is already an pretty vicious animal as it is. You won't be sorry. (An 1198 would be fun though )

Yes, get the 2008 1098 alone with all the gear and termi upgrade and roll everything into finance. 20hp+ is good, but lot more money you ahve to spend later.
