Cases for Nokia N8

The problem I have with my black gel case on my N8 is that the Notification / Breathing lights don't work since the rubber blocks the LED. Might as well turn off this function on the phone.

ps> I dropped my prior-N8 and had to buy another one, so it's a case from now on .. these phones DO scratch / dent easily when dropped on a hard surface! I can unfortunately confirm that!

My Otterbox is perfect for me. Yes it is a pain to get out of your pocket but at least I know if I drop it I'm safe. I have a Wilson Sleek (car kit/amp) in my car and the phone with case fits just perfect, as for a carrying it around I have a nylon holster(for my pistol) and the phone fits perfect in it. So when using the phone have to use ankle holster for gun. Whatever works I guess.
 
I finally caved in an ordered the N8 last night and was hoping to find some nice cases in this thread. I could never use something that big on a phone thats already on the porky side. Anyone find anything else thats more on the slim side? If not I may just go with a belt clip type thing just for work days.
 
I don't see how all of you can cover up such an attractive phone with a case. Mine's naked and she's staying that way. I want to enjoy it's good looks now instead of saving it for two years (when I'll want another phone, anyway) and always looking at an ugly case (I've never seen one that I think is attractive, and I've never used one on any phone). Just wondering how you can live with it?
 
Nice find! Wish this was the Commuter case though. If I didn't already have the Impact I'd be all over this.

And with regards to why cover up such an attractive phone: after you've dropped it and thankfully no big damage, one looks for options to minimize the damage from the next, almost inevitable, drop! :)
 
I find the phone too slipperly naked; I've almost dropped it twice. I also find that I can't get comfortable holding it without thinking in the back of my mind that I'm gunking up the lens cover and that it won't be clean when I want to take a quick picture.

I got my leather belt case and the N8 slides in their very nicely but there is a bit of play so I suspect that's why the seller said fits N8 with Impact case nicely. Can't wait for my Otterbox to arrive to confirm that's the case (no pun intended).
 
I would LOVE to go naked with the n8 because it's such a nice looking handset. However it's too slippery and I always feel like I have to be careful when using it and not drop it lol The impact case added some bulk to the phone and it lost it's sexiness but it did add some nice grip to it.

By the way, ordering from otterbox directly takes a while now as they were doing inventory or something last week. I had ordered a commuter case for my galaxy s on the 12/30/2010 and it's now barely shipped out now. I've already dropped my galaxy s the second day I got the phone (which was last Friday) =[
 
lowincash: do you think you could post some higher resolution pics of the N8 with the Impact case from different angles? I've seen a few examples online but they're all small and difficult to see. Thanks
 
To each their own, I don't know how anyone can keep a phone in their pocket.



The last time I did that, my phone looked like **** after a couple of months.



Never again will I use a phone without a screen protector and a holster...
 
Thanks for those pics. However, I think I got myself confused in my previous post. I'm looking for some good pics of the Commuter case. I currently have the Impact so wanted to compare that to the commuter. Thanks tho!
