Wow. I'm surprised at how many questions start with "I had unprotected sex...could I be pregnant?" I don't know if it's the schools I'm disappointed in, the parents, or who... I'll just answer the question now:

Yes. You could be pregnant if you had sex without protection (condom, birth control). Yes, even if he didn't ejaculate. Yes, even right before your period. Yes, even during your period. Yes, even one day after your period. Yes, even two days after your period. Yes, certainly when you are ovulating. Yes, even if you have an irregular period. Yes, even if it's your first time.

And sometimes, even when you use "protection" you can get pregnant. True story. Now, can we move on?
I get that some people need help. But if you're having sex you might want to consider the details of such an act. But I digress, my point is, should Yahoo Answers really be the best medium for sex education? Really? There are hotlines, if you can get on the internet, you can find a hotline to chat it out. Or take a test.

I'm just trying to help. Honestly.

I so agree with you! There are other questions people ask though that you missed "when do I need to take a HPT? Is the day after unprotected sex too early?" or "is 13 weeks too early to tell whether I'm having a boy or a girl?" or the girls who list a bunch of symptoms that could or could not mean that they are pregnant ...

I sometimes sit here at work yelling at the computer "just take a freaking pregnancy test!!" but I agree, sex education in younger children needs to happen or at least their parents need to monitor their sex life.

It should just be in the rules before allowed to post a question. I don't know what makes people think we are pregnancy tests. I can understand some questions. But the am I pregnant stuff.. come on!

I remember when I was younger that all my friends that were sexually active and thought that standing up was a form of birth control never got a sex talk from their parents. How much can parents expect the school to teach without them stepping in as an adult to talk to their own kids.

I'd be willing to bet that 90% of those questions are pranks from trolls! They all just succeeded in irritating you too! You just have to ignore the questions you don't like, it's not worth getting worked up about.

I believe its many different things. Sex Ed in school might be boring or just barely touching the issue, parents don't feel responsible for teaching their kids about it and tell them just don't have it (not like that ever worked with a teen), and than there is group pressure so and so is a woman now and you are still a kid because she had sex with some guy, maybe you are not normal since you are older than her. I don't think that having Sex is the problem. I have grown up in Europe where most kids start having sex around 13-14 years of age funny thing is that the teenage pregnancy rate is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay lower than in the US. Why? Because they tell there kids all about it and offer them the means that they need to protect themselves. As a matter of fact most europeans don't get children until they are in their late 20s or 30s. The USA need to stop sleeping on the issue and start doing something. Better SEx Ed teachers and more interesting ways to approach it would be a good start. Why not tell them about STDs and show them a few pictures on how they look and how long they stay and what they do to your body. Parents as well need to stop sleeping and tell their kids about morals and values. Virginity is a gift that can only be given away once and you should be quite careful who you give it to because you will remember that person for your entire life. And last but not least protection needs to be made available for these kids. Apparently the approach of: well if you cant get protection you will not do it approach failed so for crying out load give them the tools to protect themselves cause guess what they will do it without anyways.
So and now i will get of my soapbox and stop preaching on this frustrating subject
