Cartoons you thought you would like, but didn't

The problem is that the Legion doesn't need a big shot like Superman to be there, it's like Batman had appeared on TT, Also Superman took most of the attention from the real protagonist and that shouldn't happened.

Even tho Superman appeared on the comics from the start they could've made the show on how all of the members met and created the legion.

And nothing personal but Superman is always lame so if you have a problem then get over it since it's my own opinion.

Most likely, the producers felt that the only way that they could sell a Legion of Super Heroes TV series would be to put a big name character front and center, since no one other than long time readers of the DC comics know who any of the LoS characters are, and since Batman was never a member of the Legion (nor could he be, as Legionnaires are required to have at least 1 super power) that only leaves Big Blue. The series was originally going to be SuperGIRL and the Legion of Super Heroes, but it was changed to to SuperMAN (originally SuperBOY, but Siegel & Schuster had a lock on the Superboy name at the time) early in pre-production. My guess is that the producers felt that boys wouldn't tune in to watch a show with a female at the center, and also because Superman Returns came out that same year, and so putting Superman at the helm would make for great publicity.

It is your opinion, and you are entitled to it, just I am entitled to disagree with it, which in this case I do.;)

Aside from the shows that were described here, Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries went old fast with all the Sylvester bashing which I got really sick off on season 2.

Sailor Moon was hard to like cause it suffers from B.T.M.C.S.- Bash The Main Character Syndrome.

Xaolin Showdown was good but the continuity was really screwed up man.

The Brothers Flub Nicktoon was way to depressing for my tastes.

American Dad had way too much Anti-ANYTHING innuendo in EVERY. DAMNED. EPISODE. And everything was way to extreme.

Also, The G.I. Joe Sigma Six show was to much for me. Kind of Ironic that they got a Japanese studio to do a American Franchise.

Pokemon- See Sailor Moon.

I don't have a problem with your opinion, I just don't happen to share it. Superman pwns all.

And I don't think it was ever the producers' intention to do Legion without Superman. As Blackstar previously pointed out, Superman Returns came out the summer before LoS' debut, and many people wouldn't have bothered with the show if it didn't have a big name superhero featured in it; these same people wouldn't have bothered with Teen Titans if Robin hadn't been there, most people outside of comic readers had no idea who Starfire, Cyborg, Beast Boy and Raven were before the TT show started up. Supes has always been an integral part of Legion (heck, the Legion was introduced in a Superboy comic), so it's only natural that Supey be in the show. I'd have a hard time picturing the show without Superman. It would be like doing a Brave and the Bold show without Batman.

BTW, there was an episode about the Legion's forming in season 2, "Origins", so there was no need to make that the focus of the entire series.

I'm one of the few people on this board who actually liked FF:World's Greatest Heroes. Some of the fight scenes could've been better, I'll give you that, and I disliked those candy-white and orange colored costumes that the team wore, but I have to disagree with your assessment of the character portrayals. I thought all of the characters were executed well; this show was my personal favorite portrayals of Susan and Johnny Storm. At least in WGH each of them had a personality, rather than the ciphers they were in the Marvel Action Hour version. I didn't find Sue annoying at all (I'd rather see her the way she was here than as the blandly virtuous damsel-in-distress), and Johnny was supposed to be annoying; that was his character, the annoying, hotshot punk kid.

I was expecting something pretty decent from Catscratch, but it was pretty big let down. Some of the episodes were ok, just not what I had hoped for.

Thank you for reminding me, everyone. Camp Lazlo, for reasons already mentioned, that being the maker of the great Rocko's Modern Life creating a bland, tame and downright boring cartoon.
