Cartoons you only like for nostalgia.

Has Arthur really been on the air for that long? Wow. It really doesn't feel like it.

Let's see, I would watch these simply because I did when I was younger, not necessarily because I think they're gold:

-Captain Planet
-Care Bears (really corny, seriously)
-He-Man/She-Ra (I rewatched the movie some years ago with friends, and we couldn't stop laughing)
-Maxie (terrible. Really terrible)

Most of the cartoons I grew up watching I really can't stand anymore. There will always be the timeless classics like Popeye, The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Tom & Jerry, and the various Loony Toons characters--but as a child of the '80s, very little of those shows I once loved have held up well, IMO. I tend to cringe a lot when I see the original G.I. Joe and Voltron shows and pretty much all of the Hanna Barbera shows that came out during that period...

I think Robotech is the only show from the '80s that I can still sit through now...

I agree about Pokemon. I've grew tired of this show, but I watch some episodes because it has a certain "charm" to it. Especially the earlier episodes.
I'm suprised noone has mentioned Goof Troop yet. Looking back at that show now I just laugh! Some episodes are good and funny, but a lot of them have poor animation and idiotic jokes.

Voltron
Jetsens
Hamtaro
Justice Friends
Cow & Chicken
Scooby-Doo

I guess I would mention Pokemon but it's still running and a pretty good animation on its own.

On Earth Day I watched an episode of Captain America and it was just awful. Nothing like I remembered it. But then again, I've been getting spoiled by the DCAU quality of superhero shows. :anime: I admit, I will also occasionally stop and watch when I see my niece watching the original Power Rangers.

Actually, when i watch older shows, i dont try to hold them up to the standards of stuff like JLU or stuff like that, i just watch and if it entertains me thats all that matters. There are plenty of shows from the past that dont entertain me anymore as well, and i simply dont watch them.
