Cartoons You Love That Everyone Else Hates

Johnny Test (though i can see where people wouldnt like it)
The Goode Family (didnt get a chance IMO)
Recess (I dont get why people hate this show, i think its quite entertaining and the characters are interesting. Its a better school show than some of the other stuff around at the time like pepper ann or angela anaconda)
The Batman (The Clayface story was done much better here than on B:TAS, but again, thats just my opinion)

There is a lot of hate for Johnny Test (partially due to how many airings the show receives on Cartoon Network), but really, it's not that bad. (The animation in the show's first season was better, but I digress.) The single worst element in it is the title character. Johnny Test would be an OK show if they could just get rid of Johnny.

I wasn't aware that Recess was hated. I've only ever talked to one person who truly disliked the show, but it's worth mentioning that this person had a bizarre, almost fanatical hatred for all things Disney, so he hated anything they did. Recess only started to get bad around season 4, IMO.

Also, Pepper Ann and Angela Anaconda weren't 'school shows'; they were shows about kids who happened to be school aged and attended school. There's a difference. In the case of those shows, unlike Recess or Fillmore!, the school wasn't the primary setting. I can't comment much on AA, since I only saw a handful of episodes (the show's visual style did creep me out a little, which prevented me from watching it to any great extent), but I thought Pepper Ann was funny.

Who hates Recess?

*picks up torch and pitchfork*

It's because some people think that BTAS is the best dang cartoon in history. My big brother actually prefers The Batman to BTAS and yes he used to watch BTAS back when it was new. I think The Batman was pretty good. I like how some of the non-fighting villains were could actually fight (Penguin, Joker, Riddler). And by non-fighting I mean they usually depend on goons or weapons.

The Batman wasn't perfect, but as a stand alone series, it wasn't terrible, by any means. What's truly annoying is how some DCAU snobs would instantly turn up their noses and poo-poo the series during it's run simply because it wasn't Batman:TAS. I enjoyed the DCAU also, but I can accept that it's over and also that the DCU has a long history which allows it's various characters and franchises to be interpreted a multitude of different ways, and that every DC animated series shouldn't have to live in the shadow of the DCAU.

I'm among those who liked Mucha Lucha and Atomic Betty. They weren't the best shows in the world, but they were good fun at times. I liked the shapeshifting wrestling moves in the former.

I also kind of liked American Dragon: Jake Long and Loonatics Unleashed. They were generic, but they weren't horrible.

Oh, now Loonatics, that is something that I dislike.

Honestly, it was boring and, as you say, generic, but from a objective stand-point not that bad. However, it's difficult to be objective when it comes to a show that's bastardizing some of the greatest pieces of animation ever made. I can't watch Space Jam, Baby Looney Tunes, or any of the Looney Tunes shorts from the 90s for the same reason, even though none of them were really that badly made.

Now here's something that will shock people - I used to like Coconut Freds Fruit Salad Island. Yes I did. I recognized it as a badly-drawn Spongebob rip-off even then, but thought it was imaginative and funny in a stupid, but genuine way. The fact that it debuted (I think) beside pieces of excrement like Johnny Test and Da Boom Crew may have improved my opinion as well.

Of course I haven't seen it in years, and I'm not sure what I'd think of it now. I wager I'd still prefer it to Da Boom Crew, though.

I love Shrek 2, even more so than the first Shrek movie. I thought the sequel was done pretty well, the story was interesting, the characters returned in top form. It still ranks high as one of my favorite Dreamworks Animation flicks, well next to Panda and Dragon.

Extreme Ghostbusters
I thought this was a pretty cool show. It had great writing, interesting characters and some pretty creepy looking monsters. Not to mention it turned Janine back to the sarcastic and witty person she was in the early seasons of the Real Ghostbusters.

I agree with American Dragon and Loonatics, they weren't awful. I enjoyed them. I don't really like Mucha Lucha though; the crude humor annoyed me, I guess.

Seriously though. Why didn't The Brothers Flub catch on?

Another one that doesn't seem to be too fondly remembered among this crowd is Marsupilami. Sure, it ran roughshod all over its source material, but it had some merit in my opinion.

I'll probably be the only person to mention this show, but, Coconut Fred's Fruit Salad Island. I LOVED the episode, Captain Nut and the Power Fruits! It was so much fun. I miss that show a lot. People use to always say, "how could you love that show? It's a rip off of your favorite character Spongebob!" I can't explain why I love it.

These people fail to take into account also that Cow & Chicken's mom and dad don't even have upper halves; they're both just torsos with legs. If you can go along with that, then you shouldn't have any problem with their having 2 talking animals as their children.
