Cartoons You Love That Everyone Else Hates

The new Spongebob's. People in my school say "they suck" and "Spongebob sucks nowadays". I have to scream: "ITS JUST FINE. The recent season has been one of the best things they have put out in a while". I'd like to see them write a better episode than they did (although Im sure they could do better than the 2nd half of season 4).

My friend hates 12 Oz. Mouse but I think its hilarious. I was showing it to him and he forced me to turn it off he thought it was so bad.

Oh yeah, I'd agree with the new Spongebobs. I do think the quality has gone down slightly, but the show is still funny, and definately not the abomination some people make it out to be.

New episodes of the Simpsons, again like Spongebob people jump on the bandwagon and say stuff like "it sucks nowadays". I'm sure they will do the same with the new episodes of Futurama

The original Casper short films comes to mind. Animation historians always count them as being among the worst shorts produced buring the golden age, but i actually like them a lot. Sure, the gags aren't nearly as inventive as in many other short films series of the era, but they have a sweetness mixed in with the comdey that can hardly be found in any other short films series of the era other than Disney's, and which im quite fond of.

I first noticed that Simpsons had started sucking back in 2000 (when season 10 was aired for the first time in my country) when i didn't have any internet access and had absolutely no idea that there were other people that shared my opinion. So i for one can hardly be accused as "jumping on a bandwagon" when it comes to my opinions on newer Simpsons episodes, and im sure that there are a lot of other people which the same can be said for.

I'm not sure how well-liked Xiaolin Showdown was. Usually when I talk to people about it, they usually reply with the following responses:

"I liked that guy who hung out the ghost, but that's just about it."
"All the characters were bad stereotypes, I especially hated the cowboy."

Or they would reply mocking the facial expressions of the show usually saying it was trying to be anime or sarcastically saying "IT'S SO KAWAII".

Oddly enough, I can rip out dozens of expressions from the show that were very cartoony and very well drawn. This for example, which is also done using some great perspective, double points for being able to pull that off.

Mucha Lucha! Me & my friends used to watch that as if it was the 2nd coming. We love pro-wrestling, so it introduced us to "Lucha Libre" & frankly, we realized that we would love any type of wrestling.:) We would make our own masks & jump off ours beds as if we were jumping off the tope rope:anime:(we were 10 in those days). Since the characters in the show turned into something whenever they did a signature move, we'd try to make our Signatures & characters. I was the "Silver Savior" & my move was "Sacred Silver!". I watched some episodes a couple of years ago, just to see if nostalgia was blinding me. It wasn't.:D

Atomic Betty - I didn't understand why some people hated this show. I thought it was an interesting cartoon of a young girl who fights evil in outer space. And it was well animated in Flash.

For all the things I think are wrong with it, I still liked Yin Yang Yo. I've seen very little mention of it here.

I'm part of the first camp. I only saw a few episodes of this, but Jack Spicer was the only memorable thing about this show. I never realized until recently that his VA was the same person who did Montanna Max from Tiny Toons, Danny Cooksey.

I like the few that are cutesy in a good way (There's Good Boos Tonight, and about 2-3 others I can't recall the titles of at the moment) and the ones with Wolfie, my favorite Famous character, in them. The rest, well...

101 Dalmatians:The Series

The New Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog

Father of the Pride

Angry Beavers

Back At The Barnyard -A lot of people seem to drop it into the "all cartoons nowadays suck" category. I don't see what's so bad about it. Sure it can be a bit stupid and over-the-top at times, but it's not the apocalypse most people make it out to be. It's just harmless fun.

I beileve that one is actually quite fondly remembered by most kids who grew up during Sonic's "golden age" (im certainly one of them), if usually in a "so bad it's good" kinda way.:p

That Guy with the Glasses takes things he likes and makes fun of them at times, too. He just does it for comedic sake. It's just hard to believe with all the stuff he finds horrible and makes fun of. xD

Bobobo-bobo-bobo- I love that series to peices. But, not many do because they don't understand Manzai humour which is widely popular in Japan. o.o Cultural difference, ftw!

From a few recent posts at this site, not many people seem to like Mike, Lu, & Og. But I thought it was a pretty decent show. From the island setting, the quirky characters, and the culture clash, it had some good qualities that made it (at least to me) a nice fun series.

I'll have to go with Yin Yang Yo too. It had it's flaws, but it could still be a fun ride. I always cracked up whenever they flashed back to Master Yo's youth and he would be shown with this gigantic afro and the appropriate funky background music. "Everybody was Kung Fu fighting" indeed. :anime:

I never really cared for Ren and Stimpy, but everyone else seemed to like it. So... :p That's not really the question of this thread.

Some people have mentioned XS. I personally liked Omi, Kimiko, Clay and Raimundo. They were an interesting bunch and the style and premise of the show was colorful and original to me. It came out around the time I was still watching American Dragon, Avatar and Teen Titans but I can definitely appreciate a good show when I watch it.

Recent shows just haven't really cut it for me. I like FlapJack, Chowder and P & F, but it's not really evened out except for some of the blander action/adventure fare such as Ben 10 Alien Force and Star Wars. I mean, is it just me or did a lot of flavor go stale after 2008?

One I can think of is Mucha Lucha. It's inane and not at all good, but the obnoxiousness works like a charm for this type of show. Its hard to explain, but I don't think I'll be changing anyone's opinion if I could anyway.

Freak Show was another show I liked that lacked fans. The humor was very similar to the typical adult swim show, notably Aqua Teen Hunger Force. I guess that's what pulled me in.
