Cartoons You Dislike and Why

I actually like the later episodes of that show. I just wish Eddy and Edd were the only characters as the "main" characters. Ed is just a giant walking catchphrase of stupidity.

Eddy and Double D have good comedic balance with each other. :0

I'm actually amazed at the shows that are being ragged on in this thread: all of the CN comedy shows, Beavis and Butt-head, South Park, Rescue Rangers, Futurama, Spongebob, Ren and Stimpy, American Dad...

Did I miss the memo that stated that it's suddenly cool to dislike all animated comedies? It's a trend I'm noticing more and more these days.

I'm not really a big hater. If something doesn't interest me I just don't watch it. Doesn't seem to be much of a point whining about something you don't like that others may actually enjoy. Watch what you like. Ignore what you don't like. It's as simple as that. I'll be 29 next week, so the days of my interest in animated action shows (especially the stuff that's popular on CN right now) is long over. But I'm not going to go about naming each and every one and why I don't watch them. They're not my thing. Simple as that.

The only shows I'll admit to disliking in this post are the shows that obsessed fans tend to blow completely out of proportion and make out to be something their not. I'm not even going to bother naming them cause anyone who has followed my posts here over the years knows what I'm talking about. That said, it would be silly of me to pop up in talkback threads for these programs in order to go on and on about the reasons I dislike them. That's just flaming.

The only shows I'll openly rag on are South Park and Simpsons. And that's only when the shows deliver duds. Simpsons may deliver more misses than hits these days but I still love the franchise like crazy. Same with South Park. I just get disappointed when the bad episodes outweigh the good ones, because I know both shows can do better and have in the past. And since I've been a fan of both series since day one I don't feel I'm in the same league as anyone who never liked a show to begin with and shows up in every talkback thread of said show just to complain about why they don't like. What I especially dislike are people who pop into Family Guy talkback threads week after week just to say that the show has sucked ever since the renewal. The show has become something else than what it used to be and has gotten comfortable in it's new skin. Other people have accepted that and enjoy it. If you cant accept that then why post? The show isn't going to change now.

Regarding Infusion's comment about Ed: I really can't see the show working without the combined trio of Eds. I loved how they were able use Ed for meta-humor in later episodes. I love stuff like the beginning of "If It Smells Like Ed" when everyone notices the desecration of the giant friendship heart and Sarah turns around the grabs Ed, who then happily yells "HERE WE GO!" as if to acknowledge that this is the exact moment where the plot is actually kicking in. He does the same thing in "All Eds Are Off" as the boys are placing their bets. Just as things begin to get heated Ed turns to the camera and says (and forgive me for forgetting the exact quote), "HANG ON TO YOUR SEATS KIDS!" again acknowledging the plot kicking into high gear. I love stuff like that. And that's part of the reason I enjoy The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy so much. On the surface the show appears brainless and gross. But it's actually a smarter, more well written show than people give it credit for. Billy and Mandy's Big Boogie Adventure was probably the best animated feature I watched last year, second only to Rataouille.

The simpsons: There I said it. I never could get into the simpsons with all honesty. But maybe I never gave it much of a chance either. It was just really boring in my opinion. I do love Futurama though.

Drawn Together: Again wasn't interested in this show. Didin't have great characters and wasn't that funny in my opinion. I gave it a few watches and I don't know. I just couldn't get intno it.

Squirrel Boy: Oh Man. I really hate this cartoon. The plots suck, the characters are boring, it's not funny at all and lacks any fun. I only gave it a watch to heard Richard Horvitz's voice but thats it.

The Cramp Twins: What the hell was that. Seriously

Scooby Doo: Again I'm gonna get bricked for this one. It's fun the first few watches but it gets so old. Go on a mystery, catch the bad guy, it's another guy in a mask.

The Life and Times of Juniper Lee: My god was this show boring! I simply did not care for this show at all.

Lil Bush: I'm honestly getting pretty tired of George bush jokes. It's getting old. The show in general is just really lame.

Lloyd in Space: I'll have to agree with everyone else here. That show was pretty bad. It's a shame too since it seemed to have something going for it.

Theres probably a few more but I can't think of them right now.

I prefer to avoid expressing negative opinions, but ?Get Ed? is definitely an animated program that I?ve disliked. I watched the first seven episodes when it came out, and as much as I hate to say it, I thought it was horrible. I found the characters to be clich? and much of the dialogue and humor seemed forced. I also didn?t care that much about the art style, nor did I like how the same goons kept being used over and over again. There were a few things that I did like; I thought that Bedlam was a decent villain and I liked Dr. Pinch to some extent, but I didn?t find much else appealing.

I actually made a post on the death cover-ups recently, it's so bad it's hilarious. Same thing goes for Prince Lotor's voice...so cheesily evil it's funny! :p

Pinky and the Brain did Clinton-bashing humor over and over again to the point that it got tiresome....and this was even before the scandals! Frankly, that's why I don't like political humor, it needs to be done in moderation to be funny and yet it never is.

Really, I'm not a political guy and don't care about Bush any whichway (though I do pity the foo' for all the criticsm). I was just pointing out how dumb and overexaggerating saying he "destroyed the country" was, especially since, as you said, this junk's been said with nearly every damn president, people just don't remember (or don't want to.)

If a mod could lock this thread, it'd be even more appreciated. I'm sorry, but this has "flamewar-in-the-making" written all over it. I mean, Danny Phantom is bashed in the opening post! Lord knows I dislike that show, but alot of people do like it, and bashing it, much less calling it "the worst ever", doesn't seem like a good idea.
