Cartoons without theme songs

How many cartoons have an intro that doesn't comprise a theme song, but instead some other intro method ? such as a spoken intro by a narrator or lead character?

Here are some examples I know of:

*Super Mario Bros. 3: Begins with a narration from Ernie Anderson.

*The Wild Thornberrys: Begins with a narration from Eliza.

*The Powerpuff Girls: Begins with a narrative intro. I always thought this show had its theme over the end credits instead. (I also thought Dexter's Laboratory was strange because it had an instrumental intro but vocal closing theme.)

Surely there're more.

In other words...you mean theme scores? In that case...plenty! Especially the action and adventure genres. The `80s being the exception, of course. Some that come to mind:

Jonny Quest
Batman: The Animated Series
X-Men
Gargoyles
`90s Spider-Man (to some degree)

I can think of 'The Rocky Show,' both openings of that had an intro by Bill Conrad rather than a theme song. That's all I have in mind right now.

That's not really accurate, since even the shows that don't have lyrics still have opening theme music. I don't know of any animated series that's devoid of a theme song.

Shows with non-vocal openings are too numerous to list.

At the risk of turning this into a list thread, here are just some examples:

X-Men: TAS
X-Men: Evolution
Batman: TAS
Superman: TAS
Justice League/Unlimited
Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog (not SatAM)
Dexter's Lab
Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes
The Powerpuff Girls
The Bullwinkle Show
The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show
Dungeons & Dragons
Duckman
Mission Hill
King of the Hill
Robot Chicken
The Venture Brothers
The Secret Saturdays
Batman: The Brave and the Bold
Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Ben 10: Alien Force

...to name but a few.

Indeed. As far as I know, there's only one show in the history of television that doesn't have a theme song, and that's "60 Minutes".

I'm probably the only person on Earth who doesn't watch "Lost", so I can't verify that for ya. (Hence why I used the phrase "As far as I know".)

I remember a few occasions where a few AS shows didn't even have an opening, let alone a theme song.

Also, shows without themes are commonplace in network TV. I just saw an episode of The Mentalist, and it doesn't have one.
