Cartoons with no finales

Having been inspired by the thread Cartoons with Finales, I came up with the opposite idea......the fact there's plenty of toons with no finales at all. I don't know if the Jetsons had one. Same with Underdog, the cowboys of moo mesa and Inspector Gadget. Your views?

I personally think this topic would be better if we talked about cartoons that SHOULD have had finales that never got them.

Need I even mention Samurai Jack?

Sonic SatAM. It doesn't matter if the story continued in the comics, the actual show ended on a cliffhanger that was never resolved.

And let's not even get started on Reboot.

It's pretty much a let down when a show that actually relies on continuity or the main character has some sort of goal doesn't end up getting a finale (as was mentioned, Samurai Jack).

Shows like Rocko's Modern Life that don't really need a finale don't get one because well, they don't need it.

I mentioned Invader Zim in the other thread. It should have had one, Nickelodeon didn't allow it. A real shame because season 2 was starting to get extremely plotty.

I think that most cartoons don't have a finale...

Anyways does anyone remember if the last Texas Tinstar segment of Shnookems and Meat had him like hanging over a pit of sharks or something? That needed a finale.

Duckman ended on a cliffhanger.
Duckman's supposedly dead wife Beatrice shows up to his wedding alive, and Cornfed knew she was alive the whole time.

Near future? More like if Genndy ever finds time after completing the multitude of other projects he's working on. Of course he's excited about being able to give Jack a finale, but I honestly doubt he's in any hurry to revisit an old project from the early 2000's as he is to work on new stuff.

I love the show Samurai Jack but I can't imagine a good ending for the show. I guess the ending would include Jack getting back to the past and defeating Aku but that seems too obvious. Still, I would watch it if they made it.

I read somewhere that they had season two all figured out. While I was never a fan of the art-style, Stroker and Hoop was one of the best comedies on Adult Swim. I am surprised it was not more popular. My favorite episode is The Wrath of Khan Ja but they were all funny. Anyways, I was never bothered by the fact that there was no finale, but I am bothered that there was only one season. Curse you, Ron Howard! :D

Sonic SatAM was supposed to have a third season, but thanks to Mighty Morphin Power Rangers' success, we never got it.
Sonic Underground also had no ending, but its assumed that Sonic, Manic and Sonia eventually reunite with their mother and defeat Robotnik.
The Legend of Zelda had no ending either, but if you've played the games, you can imagine how it turns out.

Unfortunatly a lot of cartoons don't follow a recurring plot and therefore don't really get a true ending, but once in a while we get treated to one. Shows with a real plot flow should get one though to give closure to the followers. Anime usualy follows a plot and often get a true ending and not just a cancellation...

Cartoons which aren't executed in a serial fashion (like most comedy cartoons) don't really need finales. Also, some networks don't want their shows to have a concrete conclusion so they can air the shows in any random order once they've completed their initial runs.

True that. But I would have liked to have seen an episode/finale where they go back to the Mushroom Kingdom. (I wonder what could have happened while they were gone?)

The old Silver Surfer Cartoon from 98' not to mention all of the other cancelled marvel shows from 96 onwards,

Hulk (which was getting good until it was cancelled, w/ the exception of She-Hulk who was only there for fanservice and barely furthered the plot)

Silver Surfer-I want to know what happens to the Silver Surfer dang it!

Spiderman Unlimited-Didn't care as much, but what happened to the ending and does he ever defeat the High Evolutionary?

Avengers-Same as the last three.

Its a shame that Marvel was doing poorly back in the late 90's because these shows really did deserve a second season if there was the budget for one.

Silver surfer was cancel due to bankrupty with Marvel. there was eight unproduced episodes.

Spiderman Unlimted and Avenger also had a unproduced

I forgot to mention Father of the Pride,
