Cartoons that deserve a remake

I am still stunned over the fact that Superman has not had his own animated series in damn near 13 years, he's may not be the comic book industries most popular hero anymore but I feel like superman could/would always be popular enough and recognizable enough to have some kind of series of his own running, heck, Smallville did okay for itself as far as live action goes. I think it may have something to do with comic book fans themselves these days, they always flock towards whatever the new thing is or whatever book has the hot writer/artist combo, my uncle always talks about how it was not like that back in his days of reading comics, people bought Spider-Man or Batman or whoever because it was Spider-Man and Batman, not because a certain writer is doing the book now, but back then comics sold in the millions, it isn't like that anymore now.

Come on DC/Warner or whoever decides what gets the greenlight for an animated series, give us Superman!
 
For the life of me, I have NEVER understood this mentality. It is simply BEYOND stupid! According to this flawed line of reasoning, NO cartoon that doesn't star Superman, Batman, or Spider-Man could EVER be successful, which is a theory that is disproved on a near-DAILY basis. You CAN make a cartoon WITHOUT these guys. I mean, nobody turned on Avatar: The Last Airbender and said, "What? No Superman? Can't watch THIS; I'll NEVER be able to follow it!" Seriously, do networks and studios REALLY feel this way? Are they really THAT idiotic? If this is true, how does anything ORIGINAL ever get off the ground?
 
yeah and what with the many characters, plotlines and story arcs in the comic it could make for a decent series. plus it ended with a cliffhanger. they could start it with a movie that summarizes what the writers were gonna do for the 3rd season.
 
Beetlejuice: Bring back the original voice cast, with more of a wacky 21st century feel. Make Tim Burton producer of the new series.

Ghostbusters: I liked Real and Extreme versions of the franchise, but the whole Jannie new look every season could have been better if Jannie returned to her old self

Transformers: I too didn't like the anime versions, but the US versions were all right. Animated could of had a TV movie to close loose ends.

Superman: Have him spin-off from The Batman, after that series ended.

Fat Albert: I didn't care for the live action flick, but I like to see Nick do a modern version of the cartoon.

Killer Tomatoes: There have been rumors of a KT remake, but a revival of the cartoon with John Astin as Gangreen would be perfect. If Astin's dead, get the guy who voiced Nick Diamond from Celebrity Deathmatch.
 
Batman Beyond and Static Shock. Both were new to the super hero world at the time and were pretty cool, and I want to see where another director and producer could take these two series with their matieral.
 
The 2002 Masters of the Universe remake was excellent. I was bummed when the toyline flopped and the series went away.

I'd also like to see Star Trek: The Animated Series remade. Producers could capitalize on the other 4 series, novels and multiple movies.

I'd like to see Jonny Quest come back. The 1996 version suffered from bad writing the first season and the then-high cost of CGI animation. But I adored the second season.

A Thundercats remake? Sounds interesting. If they can't get Beau Billingsley to play Panthro (original voice is dead), I ain't watching.
 
I don't mind a Super Smash Brothers animated series, just as long as half the Nintendo Characters put a hurting on Team Rocket in a Pokemon/SSB crossover!
 
Josie And The Pussycats - this one a more accurate adaption of the comic book series. Instead of the gang going out of town ever episode and encountering try to take over the world villains, it is more about everyday stuff, though being a band there will be episodes that take place outside of their home town, like in the comic book. And sometimes they will encounter villains like con men and crocks.

Alexander Cabot III would be the sneaking scheming snob he was in the comic book. Alexandra would have witch craft powers.

I would change their hometown to be something original, and not have the Archie gang involved, like they did with the Sabrina the Animated series in the late 90's. I even created some characters to fill the void left by the Riverdale gang.

First of all, a nerddy boy that has the hots of Alexandra, and would do anything for her, so the Cabots often use him in their schemes to break up Josie and Alan. Secondly as semi recuring characters, Zack and Zelda Cabot, Alexander and Alexandra evil cousins, they are more vicious and mean version of Alexander and Alexandra. And Zelda's pet chuwara who is Sabastein's enemy.
 
I just want to see Sonic SatAM being remade. I can see it on CN on Saturday mornings around 10 a.m.. But, I want the story to be a little bit more strict and...HAVE A DECENT ENDING! NO CLIFFHANGERS! NO CANCELATION!

Oh, I think a year ago in youtube, there were rumors of Sonic SatAM being remade...Hmmm.

If we can't have another Sonic SatAM, give us another Sonic OVA.

If not that as well, make a Sonic Series that is base on the games. No add-in characters, no other villains, no brother/sister. Make it base on the first 3 games (1,2,3, and maybe Sonic CD).
 
The nerdy boy character reminds me of Wilshire Brentwood from Beverly Hills Teens, but I don't see why the shows' villains need to have villains of their own. I think that 1 set of snobby twins with a wicked pet per show is enough. Characters like that might be good for one episode, but not in a recurring role.
 
Well I forgot to mention they would be semi recuring. Like appear twice a season, they would live in another town, they would appear very rarely, just when you need to take things to another level. As snobby and a pain Alexander and Alenandra can be, they are still friends of Josie and the gang, so there is a limit of how far they are allowed to go. Their cousins have no limit on how nasty they can be. A good comparision would be to Butch and Cassidy.
 
I'm going to tell you something right now, all these plots remind me of Jem a little bit, but yo, Josie outranks Jem by more than two decades, so it is possible that a rival boy band similar to Du Jour, or Du Jour themselves, can be brought into the series as Zach and Zelda's own band to rival Josie and the Pussycats. Du Jour is the boy band from the Josie movie.

Other plots in the new Josie series could tie the series to Sabrina the Teenage Witch in the fact that the Witches Council could be brought in to deal with the Cabot Family, since Alexandra Cabot could have bewitchment powers of her own, and their powers demand the intervention of a Head Witch to deal with Alexandra. In my infinite wisdom, this Head Witch, which I will call Samantha, would be the one that serves the town that the Pussycats reside in, which I will call Cloverdale. And for some supernatural reason whatsoever, also serves as the head of the record company that signs the Pussycats. Samantha could be the Head Witch that had been watching over Alexandra for years, much like Della did for Sabrina in Riverdale.

And since Enchantra is the main Queen of the Witches, Samantha and Della both answer to her.

What old 'toons I wouldn't mind seeing brought back:

* A DC-mini-inspired, Timm-produced Space Ghost
* For that matter, The Herculoids and Thundarr, in the same vein and style.
* A new half-hour Star Trek animated series produced by Adelaide/Dong Woo exploring the new movie timeline
* Ewoks produced/written by Dini and Tartakovsky (personally, I'd really prefer a Brian Daley-influenced "Solo & The Wookiee" animated series - if for no other reason than to get Star Wars AWAY from the Jedi/Sith/Clone Wars/Prequel nonsense - but we're talking about remaking 'toons that have already been done, so...)
* Freakazoid!
* A new Superman or Superman-related cartoon before WB loses any more legal ground, maybe a "World's Finest" series in the same vein and style as B:TB&TB
* Ghostbusters with character likenesses that are closer to the live-action characters even if not exactly identical, and more like the first season or two of TRGB with genuinely scary monsters and Slimer shoved in the background or gone entirely
* A new Thundercats cartoon of some kind would be nice, too
* Another Mainframe (or whatever they call themselves now)-animated or at least comparably animated CGI Transformers show. I don't care whether it's a G1 rehash or not (though preferably not - barring the necessary 'trademark' elements of Optimus, Megatron, Autobots, and Decepticons, I wouldn't mind sticking with a new take). I mean, "Animated" was nice and all - definitely an improvement over the Unicron Trilogy, IMHO - but to do TWO CGI TF shows back to back and then just slide right back into cel animation to me is just a step backward for the TF brand, especially in the wake of the movies.
 
I definatly agree with the Thundercats idea but I don't want to see anything crazy like with CGI or anything, I would like to see a slightly darker and more anime inspired series for the Thundercats, I believe it could definatly work.
 
You know, I was just thinking:

Spartakus and the Sun Beneath the Sea could make a really neat remake.

It's one of those really under appreciated series. I could make for a very interesting Matrix-esque movie or a really interesting reboot.
