Cartoons/animated shows too painful to watch twice

Most painful stuff to watch.

Grim, Billy, and Mandy - That show Must Be Emo! Not to mention goth in the most arrogant and superficial way.

Family Guy - Ho ho, Seth, do you take me for a fool, Seth?

Hysteria, Road Rovers, and Detention. Those 3 gawdawful and horrendous Kids WB! shows pretty much effectively killed off the entire Kids WB! era Saturday Morning Empire in one fell swoop. Yes, Spielberg. If you're reading this, even you can do awful things. Those three shows are prime examples. Compared to Tiny Toons and Animaniacs and Batman, they're just gawdawful.

Ren & Stimpy APC: Incredibly ugly and poorly written messes.
Chip & Dale or Spike the Bee Donald Duck cartoons: WAY too sadistic and cruel to Donald to be any funny. Not to mention Chip and Dale get on my nerves....

Dexter's Laboratory:

Dee Dee is a drug that won't go away. Dexter has done little to nothing to his big sister while she does stupid things to him on purpose, and he's the little brother. Wrecking his lab, pushing buttons and acting like she has a problem. I know Dexter's a kind of meanie that would do anything to keep himself away from Dee Dee and her stupidity and calling her stupid, but you got to feel sorry for Dexter. Dee Dee wins ALMOST all the time. I don't really get it. Does stupid people have to win almost all the time?

Tom and Jerry:

I'm a avid fan of T&J, but there are times when Tom would purposely bully Jerry for no reason, but when Jerry's friends causes havoc and ruins Tom's sleeping, and Tom ends up losing in the end, you got to feel sorry for Tom. A big batch of episodes with Tom trying to do right, with Jerry being a butt hole on destroying his day, especially with his nephew Nibbles. People needs to realize that Jerry isn't always the good guy. Tom's just doing his job, at least trying to do his job.

Camp Lazlo:

Do I really need to say something about this show?! Yes, yes I do. Normally we have shows improving throughout the years, but this show, RIGHT HERE DOES NOT IMPROVE!!! We all know Joe Murray (Rocko, right?) and we loved his previous show, but this is complete crap. Every episode is lame (and you see why there are little to no talkbacks about new episodes of Camp Lazlo). It's boring, corny, and it feels like a Educational show. Every character freaks me out, except for Edward and Lumpus, who hates Lazlo just as much as I do. Almost every episode isn't about him at all, and some episodes Lazlo himself doesn't even appear in. The characters are drawn like if it's the first drawing. Come on, Joe, you could've made something better than this poopdeck. 0.001/2 out of 10.

My Gym Partner's A Monkey

Dude, this show.............is so dumb, that it makes Camp Lazlo look like the best show ever (not really). Another monkey infested show, with a kid named Adam Lyon (voiced by Nika Futterman, misspelled Lion). Adam is a twelve year old average kid at Charles Darwin Middle School (yawn). His best friend is Jake The Spider Monkey, which doesn't really help Adam out (double yawn). He has other friends, a Gorilla, a Snake, a Giraffe that has a crush on Adam, and a bad tempered Bird (triple yawn). He has teachers (quadrapole yawn). He has a principal who's afraid of being sued (cries). He has a human friend named Kerry (snoresville). He has bullies (low sigh). He has......................I have nothing else to say here. 0.5 out of 10.

Squirrel Boy

I like my cartoon squirrels, like Screwy Squirrel, Screwball Squirrel and Sandy Cheeks, but this one: it's My Gym Partner's A Monkey, except they're not in school, and it has better animation. Everett Peck, creator of the good ol' 1994-1997 Duckman series on USA, shows us how stupid this show can be. There's Rodney J. Squirrel (voiced by old fav Richard Horvitz), and Andy Johnson (a slow kid voiced by veteran voice Pamela Aldon). They get on unneeded adventures and other stupid things I won't say. 2 out of 10.

And finally: Maya and Miguel:

I loved Scholastic's The Magic School Bus, the 2000 Clifford series, and Clifford's Puppy Days, and I like Latino-flavored shows like Mucha Lucha, and El Tigre, but THIS right here is B.A.D.. With so many good artists from past good shows, including Rusty Mills (WB shows like Animaniacs and Pinky and The Brain), Jamie Diaz (Hanna Barbera/Ruby-Spears/What A Cartoon/Frederator's cartoons), Bob Hathcock (Spy Vs. Spy, Freakazoid!, and so many more), Susan Blu (a good Voice Artist and Voice Director), and many more good talents are wasted in this show. The designs are freakish, they all have beady eyes, the writing......I can't say it at all. Maya Santos (Latino, and the girl who may have ADHD for goodness sake), Chrissy (a Dominican who likes male singers), and Maggie (a Chinese girl, who wears a no sleeve polka dotted shirt and a dark red dress , and a drama/fashion queen) are featured with the most stories, with everybody else, including Miguel Santos, Tito Santos, Paco, and others in the back burner, little to no development on Theo (African American) and Andy (Caucasian) (or their parents, as were Chrissy and Maggie's parents were seen a couple times), Maya has to be involved in everything with stupid ideas, with Miguel being forced to follow to make things right. The theme song is........no. At least, my little nephew and niece likes it, especially the designs of Chrissy and Maggie , as my nephew says, looks hot. Thankfully, The show has ended last year (2004-2007, or at least I think), thanks to the much better Word Girl show (which I do like). .1 (only because it's animated) out of 10.

And that's it.

We could add another Simpsons episode in the mix, "Homer vs Dignity" painful for Homer to be assulted by a panda, sometimes I wish for a Simpsons Treehouse of horror to see a payback time when Homer punish the panda. Not as painful then the previously mentionned episode but the one when Seymour Skinner was a "impostor" named Armin Tamzarian.

The Ren & Stimpy episodes done by Games - The animation wasn't that good and I prefer John K. voicing Ren.

Any Donald Duck cartoon with Spike the Bee or Chip n' Dale - Same thing as kaseykockroach said.

Any Clasky Csupo show that isn't Rugrats and Ahh! Real Monsters - They're just plain unwatchable to me.

Some of the post-revival Family Guy episodes - Some jokes and cutaways are overdone and the characters' personalities changed for the worse.

Mickey Mouse cartoons with Pluto in them - Whenever Pluto is paired with Mickey, he gets much more screentime than Mickey.

That's all I can think of for now.

I agree with you on all accounts. Except with the case of Dexter, I suspect the point Genndy Tartakovsky is trying to make is Dee Dee is mean to Dexter BECAUSE she is stupid enough to be mean. But usually, she doesn't say mean things as much as she just wrecks the place.

And Maya and Miguel. Wouldn't know. Due to how lame the artwork is, I've never watched an episode all the way through. I mean, sure the characters are "positive ethnic role models" and the show is happy and all that, but it just looks like one big dull snooze fest. It might as well be flash animation, the characters don't even move that much. It's ANIMATION for christ sake.

I agree that none of those shows were masterpieces, but Steven Spielberg isn't to blame for any of them; neither he nor his company Amblin Entertainment had a hand in creating any of these shows. All 3 were WB Animation productions, not produced by Steven Spielberg. Blaming Spielberg for Histeria!, Road Rovers and Detention is like blaming Mel Brooks for Rustlers' Rhapsody. The man had nothing to do with it.

As strongly as I disagree with that, points for cleverness. :p

(Incidentally, I recently saw Grave of the Fireflies. Maybe it's because I already knew it was a depressing movie, but I wasn't moved to tears, and could watch it again - although I figure I'd enjoy it more with more company. Am I a bad person?)

First off The Simpsons eps I mentioned Really showed how much Marge and Lisa hated poor Homer, and how much Lisa hated being a normal little girl or have anything do with normal aspects of a social life. I really hate episodes that makes a character or characters come off a unwanted degenerate.

Secondly, Family Guy Is a prime example of what's wrong with animation. Nothing but mindless sex and toilet jokes, hateful anti-social propaganda, unappealing and hurtful parodies, and a egotistical uncaring creator who doesn't care.

Third, Billy and Mandy is just a depressing cryptic horror show that does no effort in appealing the viewers. Instead all it does is make a ton of characters I wish would go away, does no effort of making tasteful humor to younger viewers, and it also shows that the makers of the show aren't exactly big fans of all the old Hanna-Barbera shows.

I saw 5 minutes of that show once, and saw nothing... nothing remarkable or appealing about that show. Even Lazlo has appeal on some level, albiet a small level and the voice actors pretty much carry all the weight. Plus, at least with Lazlo the character designs aren't butt ugly.

Is everyone blind or am I just imagining there's another topic almost identical to this one right ABOVE this thread?

Anyways,I'd say Ren & Stimpy.

R&S Adult Party Cartoon WAS horrid beyond belief and made the games eps look like classics (and i STILL think "rens bitter half IS a classic, if just for the propaganda film, "we'd be up to our ears in ren!"), but from what ive heard, it was basically john k taking requests from fan letters (ie, "make an ep thats all gross jokes!""make a sequel to firedogs!""make an ep with naked ladies"), so to be honest, it was basically john k giving the fans what they wanted. That doesnt mean it was any good though.

Gym Partner designs ugly. Dude, I could do worse with my ideas closed. The show ain't so bad...it just lost steam after the first season, which is horrible for any show. Any show that peaks in it's first season and sucks after words is pretty bad.

It's a shame they're so many fans of that garbage at my school (a place where noone knows who Bugs Bunny is).

Yeah... that's why it was so successful. I think of it as one of the last really good cartoon shows on the network, since I'm the only one who hasn't seen a whole Chowder, yet.

"Pet Alien". This show wouldn't know an original thought if it farted in its face. Young boy must keep a big secret while dealing with an obnoxious little girl who may or may not like him, and another girl who makes no secret of how much she likes him. Wow! I've never seen that before!

If it had remembered to be funny every once in a while, that would be another matter, but it didn't.

I can't watch the ending of Chrono Crusade. It's just way too depressing. I'm not going to spoil anyone on it, but I just found the type of ending to a initially comedic series unnecessary.

You know, I have that show on tape from when I was younger... and I'm pretty sure I have the toys from it somewhere too. But I tried rewatching it a few months ago and it's just so generic... I really don't know what I saw in it. It's just so utterly dull. I only rewatched the first two episodes of it.

Edit: Oh man, I'd forgotten about Pet Alien. it's even worse than the Avengers show. The new George of the Jungle cartoon is pretty terrible, too. I couldn't make it through the first episode (which was a christmas special).
