Cartoon characters who are Welsh.

I'm hoping I won't start a character-nationality-list-thread-fad here, but...

That thread about Irish characters got me thinking - there have been plenty of cartoons from around the world featuring Scottish, Irish and English characters, but - aside from cartoons that are actually made in Wales - I can think of very few with Welsh characters. The only ones that spring to mind are Ivor the Engine and the Beryl shorts by Joanna Quinn, and both of these are from the UK.

Is Wales just not funny or something?

There are manors, but most live in flats and less fancy houses. Ever seen the current cycle of Doctor Who? Very Welsh in origin (made by BBC Wales). Wales is a part of the United Kingdom west of England. They do have their own language and culture there (although there is a Welsh English truncation in some cases).

Here's more about Welsh culture. And to answer the original query . . . I don't really recall any Welsh characters except for Welshy from Futurama.

Not a cartoon, but former Pink Floyd member Roger Waters made an album called Radio KAOS, which was basically an 80s-style rip off of The Who's Tommy, with a handicapped Welshman living in LA (who could hear radio waves in his head) replacing Tommy. There are a few references to Wales and its red-dragon crest amongst the severely dated production, which makes it sound absolutely nothing like a Pink Floyd album.

I guess Wales really isn't that interesting.

Apparently Stewie thinks Peter is Welsh: "Look at him. He runs like a Welsman. Doesn't he? Doesn't he run like a Welshman?" ;)
