Cars that where wrecked being sold as NEW cars?

My husband and I recently tried to trade in my 2007 Chevy Cobalt for a new one. On the previous day when my husband went with out me he was told that our car had a trade in value of possible between 7-8,000. We were so happy to hear this. He took me back the next day to look at the colors that where available. The dealer then had the shop inspect our car to get its true value. He came back to inform us that it was wrecked and they would only give us 5,000 or less on it! We were told and bought the car for new! We were not informed of any accidents. Nor has either of us ever wrecked this car. To make matters worse the car lot we got it from originally was recently one that GM closed. Is there anything we can do?
