Hey guys. I am looking to get a used car in the $7,000 or lower range. I really wanted a Jeep Cherokee, but I've had a few problems with my desire:

1.) I've yet to find a Cherokee in my area that isn't totally rusted, scratched and/or banged up.

2.) They feel too tight and squished inside, very claustrophobic!

So guys, are there any cars similar to the Jeep Cherokee in appearance, but maybe have some more interior space? Maybe another Jeep, or some other type of brand? Thanks guys!

Grand Cherokee is a little bigger, and they come with V8s, but i recommend the Cherokee as a proud owner of one.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is nice. I have an '01. It was $4800 used. Its nice and roomy fits a carseat and a huge dog nicely. The seats are amazingly comfortable. Mines a 2x2 but you can get a 4x4. Its also a V6. I didn't buy it for any off-roading but for cross-country road trips. It rides really smooth. Although the suspension makes me sick to my stomach. Gas mileage is as can be expected for an SUV like that. Not great but not bad. We get like 20 in town, 2 highway.

There is also the Jeep Liberty but it seems as small as a Jeep Wrangler.
