Cars can blow me!

Bou Bou!

I'm not one to really post much as you guys know, but this is pissing me off.

As a kid, I grew up around cars. My dad was a mechanic and we had a family owned auto repair business up until our parents moved away about 10 years ago. Us "kids" stayed close, but went our seperate ways in jobs. My brother stayed in the automotive business as a head painter at a body shop and I went to work in a plywood mill. Through the years I went through alot and lost pretty much everything, including my tools and my knowledge of cars due to the fact that I just hated working on them.

Now that that is out of the way.......

Cars fucking suck!!! About 2 months ago, DG's van broke down. It's the altenator, but lack of money and tools parked the car. Then, about 3 weeks ago, I was letting my '69 Valiant run to keep everything in proper order and charged up. Well, some wires fried under the dash and it will not fire up anymore. Fuck it, not in the mood, will check out later. Now, yesterday, our only car left running, just up and died while DG was coming home. It is still sitting on the side of the road right now and will not start.

We have no car right now at all and I have no tools to even try to fix them. So, fuck you cars! I hate the whole lot of you.

I feel better now. :happysad:

Well I feel for ya man I really do I have had all that shit happen to me and the same thing happend All but one car was broke and then the other one said "Fuck it! I'll follow the tred of the week" and we had no car. So good luck on that on man I hope you remember all the shit needed to fix them.

I feel you, tools are a big thing, and they get expensive. Hell I have spent prolly 1000 in the last year on tool, and I don't even work on them every day. I will say this, at least you know what is wrong with one car. That must give you some hope.

Yeah, tools are the big issue right now, along with lack of money.

To be honest, I really don't even want to work on them. It was fine working on my own car back in highschool when I had my '64 Dodge Polara 500 2dr HT, 383, 727, buckets, console....oh sorry. Can you tell I loved that car? But yeah, now I just hate to work on them. Plus we had a shop, so i took all that for granted. A shop with every tool you need can spoil a person.

White Trash, yeah, our final "good running" car decided to play tag along as well. This, after I praised the car the other day about how it's a great car because it just keeps going and going. /me inserts foot in mouth.

Damn, why would get rid of that?

I have found that a good ratchet (swivil head) and a nice set of 6 point metric impact sockets+ decent set of screwdrivers will help you fix most jobs.

Family came first...car had to go. I know where the car is today...but he will not sell. God I miss that car.

But yeah, simple basic tools can usually do the job. I don't even have those right now.

A trip to the store is in order today.

An alt on a mini van, hmmm, a cresant wrench and a flat head should get it done in about an hour:happysad:. If I wasn't 3 timezones away I would offer some help.

Yeah..don't forget about the tensioner on the belt...it's not a easy thing to push/pull on when you don't even have any tools. Not to mention an alt. for that thing is $150.

Well, a 3'4 breaker bar will help on the puller (and I have yet to find anyone to know about it) If you spend the 10 dollers on it, you can get the belt off and on with out swearing once. As I said, wish I could help in some way, I get 10~20% off at advanced auto;)

I know, but I don't even have a breaker bar at the moment. Like I said, a trip to the store is going to have to happen.

I appreciate you wanting to help...trust me., I'd take you up on it.

I know I can do it....hell I've done it for years. It just comes down to....I'm sick of it anymore.

I used to get a discount when we had our shop....and even years after we closed it. It's just been so long since I stepped into the parts store that I don't think they'll remember me.

i don't have a car and i couldn't be happier with my life. public transport gets me to where i need to be. when you've got a car, at least in australia, (i'm hoping there's a similar system in the USA) you have to pay roughly $1000 annually if you intend to drive the car on public roads, it's called registration, or most commonly just rego.

senior citizens get a pretty big discount, and it's been suggested to me that i buy a car and register it in an elderly relative's name. but all my grandparents are either dead or in a nursing home.

nah fuck the whole car thing off. i thought having a car would bring me chicks on a silver platter, umm no it doesn't work like that and it never did. it's all up to the individual and nothing to do with the car.

I just paid 700$ to get my car fixed and I wake up yesterday morning, go out to my car to drop off my friend and there is a bullet sized hole/dent in my WINDSHIELD. So none the less I still have to drive it around and hope there isn't enough pressure to sent the entire thing breaking in on me. I literally have no funds right now to fix it.

Damn the kids in the neighboorhood and damn cars for not being resistant to their evil scheming.

Sorry to hear about your car trouble Copylifted.
