Carry On

Is this one of those part works things? I've always thought of them as a bit of a rip off.
It might be worthwhile having a look on the amazon or play.com site for a dvd set, you might find you save money in the long run.

btw the carry on films were great :D

well i got part 1 because it was 2.99 :)

got the film but nothing else on the DVD, i like at least the trailer. the carry on DVRAB are available for the same price as that magazine anyway on some websites and they have a lot more, e.g. my DVD of carry on abroad has the trailer, a commentary and a TV special done by the carry on team on it.

you cant get a box set of all the carry on films!!!!
to be honest i think this might be the best way to get then all if you want them all, and it does seem to be a very good part work collection!! you are saving about

i still think that it is cheaper to look around for the dvRAB unless you really want the mag tthat comes with them as i only paid 4.99 each for my carry on dvRAB and i have them all bar carry on columbus.

I have to admit, I had heard bad things/seen the Watchdog piece about DeAgostini and the Pooh incidents.

However, I had also heard good things about them with other partworks and so have given them the benefit of the doubt.

I subscribed on the 6th and the first packs arrived today. The Collection box and the first 2 issues.

I called them to check how many there were and they also said 31 + 3 Christmas issues. So at

Hmm, i received 2 collection boxes and no DVRAB/magazines.
Called them and it seems theres been a mix up as they have two subscriptions set up for me. Does anyone know where the call centre is based, as i get the impression it isnt in the UK?

The early B&W films' rights are held by a different company to the rest of the films. I was led to believe that this partwork only covers the colour films.

Much better to buy the colour film special editions. These can normally be picked up for

They voices on the auto service sound South African or Maori but when you actually speak with them it's hard to tell.

However, you can tell from the connection noises on the phone that it is not UK based.

Received my first DVD's/Magazines today. Due to the mix-up i got 2 of each issue, but theyve given me a freepost address to send them back so cant really complain about Deagostini, but i guess time will tell.

Virgin do a 5 DVRAB for 30 quid offer, and you can get all the special edition carry on films in that. It's a rip off that the DVD version of the magazine costs 2 pound more than the VHS version as DVRAB are cheaper to produce, and also cheaper to ship as well.

does anyone know if it is just the colour films or all the films in this collection you can get from the newsagent every fourtnight as i dont want emanuelle and columbus and dont want black and white ones either (well maybe carry on cabbie)

It looks like it's only going to be the Carlton owned ones (the last 18). Most of the 1st 12 are in black and white, but there are a few color ones including my favorite Carry On Screaming.

Anyone got any faith in the much touted "Carry On London" ? which seems to be the home for ex-Eastenders.

Will it fare any better than "Columbus" and what will it have to do to make sure?
