Carrie

incredible movie even after all these years.

I especially love the scene at the very end when her schoolmate is having a nightmare and Carrie's hand reaches through the ground to grab her.

Most over rated film ever.

I got it on VHS in the 80's and it was so slow and boring.

I also cant understand the fuss about the "shock" ending.

Predictable ,to say the least.

As a collector of Brian De Palma movies I rate Carrie as one of his worst.

Having said that, its probably 15 years at least since I've seen it,but my initial viewing put me off it.

Perhaps its ripe for reappraisal.

Actually just to see Nancy Allen naked again might make it worthwhile--no wonder De Palma married her.

I just wonder if I'll be able to stay awake.

Body Double and (the uncut version of) Dressed To Kill wipe the floor with Carrie

Even so many years on, Carrie remains one of my favourite horror films of all-time. As is usually the case, though, the book is much better.

Did anyone see the awful made-for-tv remake a few years ago?

That was the most frightening film for me growing up.
Her mother terrified me.
And I thought it was so cruel and tragic.
All these years later I still think it's a classic.

The Shawshank worked well too, the one with Johnny Depp (Secret Garden was it?) was good(ish). I can't really think of any others that made any good impression on me.

Firestarter? The Stand? Misery? The Shining? Dolores Claiborne? Christine? Salem's Lot? The Dead Zone? The Green Mile? Stand By Me? The Running Man? It? Apt Pupil? All pretty good, I reckon.

WOW i remeber when i first seen this movie, i jumped that much on that bit i almost fell off my chair lol, still makes me jump when i see it even though i know its gonna happen

'The Shawshank Redemption' worked well, yes.

Of these I thought 'The Shining', 'Salem's Lot' & 'The Green Mile' worked well.
The others, not so keen.
'Christine' made me laugh.
'It' was very disappointing. Far preferred the book.

In fairness, I have not seen 'The Stand' & 'The Running Man.'
