Career advice; What careers involve helping people other than doc/police/law....?

I'm 17 and i looooove helping ppl. Life long dream till recently- a heart surgeon. I know, it's really way up there but yea... And I still kinda want to but I honestly really hate the studying part... What are the other things I can do? Other than law and stuff.. I love writing as well, if thats, you know, something..

S.O.S - one word, PARENTS. But yea, no pressure...
