I was gonna go that way but too many of my buddies us the CB so i went witht hte Dual set up from J&M, i cut the AUX cord for the MP3 or accesoty and spliced it into my bike speakers. I hear all through my headset ...i can hear my cell phone but can't talk back....That is the only point that the Scala has that i would like. Like i said i use it mainly for the CB...i have a helmetless headset and a set for my Modular.

I am looking at buying the Q2's I don't need the add'l distance or conference calling and it isn't as expensive. Full face helmet is what I wear 90-95% of the time.

My mate has Q2 and you are right in your analysis, they work well. One thing he finds is that it is difficult to operate with the gloves on. To be fair, the G4 takes getting used to as well but the buttons are more discrete

A buddy of mine and I did a road trip in May, and I mounted one of my Scala Cardo Rider Q2's on his half helmet. Worked great. H-D makes "communication pouches" that slip into the helmet and hold the speakers.

I have HJC half helmet and the speakers have the hard velcrow side on them which will stick to the ear/neck curtain that zips on the helmet, the boom mic is long so it will reach in front of your mouth. The speakers actually work better on the half helmet than the full face because the ear/neck curtain pushes the speakers tight up against your ears.

BATTERY, my multiset Q2 the battery can't be replaced, I called Cardo they said they are woking on the problem.
You might want to check on the G4 for the same problem.

I have 3 G4's. Two from a powerset and one individual. I linked up all 3 on the intercom but the first one I tried to use in the middle and linking up to both channel A and B at the same time did not work. I tried to do the same with one of the other two and it worked. I did not read the manuals all that closely and I believe there are two different manuals, one for the powerset and one for the individual units. The VOX feature was turned on and I didn't think to turn it off so I had two constantly open channels as both other units were on bikes without windshields and the road and wind noise kept the VOX opened all the time. Other than the price, which I believe makes the product over rated, and the inability to use ear buds instead of their little speakers (which must be right up against your ear) and the claim of up to 1 mile range (it's false advertising clear and simple-bluetooth was never intended nor designed to get that kind of range and even if they have documented proof that you can reach a mile, it's under the best most optimum conditions. They really should advertise it's "solid" for maybe a quarter mile at best and spotty further out. A realistic evaluation of it's range with the regular disclaimers you see about terrain having an effect.) So that's why I say it's over rated. The other features are great. I have all 3 fitted to a half helmet so I don't know why another post said it could not be done. I am intertested in anyone coming up with a modification for ear buds in place tof the speakers but it must be understood the longer speaker wire also acts as the FM antenna. So if an earbud mod was installed, that one speaker wire should still remain. Does anyone know if when the rechargable batteries no longer hold a charge the company will replace them? or sell new batteries and let us install them ourselves?

I think you are misunderstanding the technologies here. Bluetooth is used to pair with local devices on the bike, they are not using that to transmit between devices. Although they do not specifically state so, I would suspect they are using FM transmission.

I was able to attach my G4 unit to my half helmet (HD model with HD shield emblems on both sides) using the overly expensive HD communication pouches for the speakers. One problem I'm having relates to the length of the boom. It barely reaches my mouth and since the unit is installed higher the boom is in my left side peripheral vision which is annoying. n1chu are you experiencing this as well?
The other problem is with the speakers. Because the communication pouches have a plastic type material for the outfacing side of the pouch the speaker sort of floats around. I plan on attaching velcro inside the pouch to keep the speakers stationary.
I haven't tried communicating with the unit and wondering how much the air will influence the quality of communication since there isn't a visor to block the wind.
