Hello,

I am looking to connect with folks that have had a Cardiac Ablation procedure. I am curious to understand people's experience with this procedure. I am in the process of helping my Dad make a decision - should he go the medication route or get the procedure... we would like more information from people that have direct experience.

I am hoping that folks are out there and willing to share.

Regards,

Mish

OMG it was the best thing I've ever done! I've posted about my procedure but after 18 years of having SVT's one day changed my life forever! Forget the medication, ablation is a CURE. I decided to come on here to help others because I needlessly suffered for 18 years. Get an experienced doctor and just do it.

I wasn't even nervous they made me feel so good the day of my ablation. I feel like someone gave me a new heart. I cannot even believe this. I'm so happy I would have normally had an SVT from being so overexcited! Medicine is dangerous, doesn't work all the time and it can stop being effective. I'm finally like a normal person and I'm still flying high. It's like someone gave me my life back. I feel empowered and this is the best thing that has happened to me in years! Find an experienced electrophysiologist and do it!

Hi there, I'm curious what you're considering the procedure for.

My son was diagnosed with SVT at the age of 7, we tried medication for about two year but he kept having breakthrough episodes the cardiologist suggested a cardio ablation. Since our son was 9 at the time it was difficult to know what to do. Not many doctors performed the procedure on children, but we do live in the Seattle area and have one of the world's premier children's hospital's and found a doctor to perform the procedure.

Since the procedure our son has not had an episode of SVT, he is now 18 and in the Army.

Ours is a success story. We would do it again.
