Car won't steer correctly, HELP please?

I brought my car in for an oil change yesterday, the mechanic said that something was lose underneath my car, so he tightened it. When I was driving home from my job last night, my steering was hard to steer and whiney sounded (maybe powersteering?), my car has NEVER had problems--04 monte carlo. Could he of caused this??

CLEARLY I'M NOT DUMB, I'M TAKING IT BACK. I JUST WANTED SOME ADVICE BEFORE I TALK TO THE GUY.

i dont know a lot about cars, but it does sound like the power steering to me, that happened to my sisters car
